- So in Minish Cap, Ezlo helps Link shrink down to uncover secrets he couldn't find at full-size...
- And in Twilight Princess, Midna helped Wolf Link with his multi-strike attack and helped him warp to distant areas...
- Then Phantom Hourglass has Ciela, who may sound like Navi, but is not her, as she can cast shockwaves from Link's sword, swing the Hammer, and even create Phantom Spheres to stop time...
- Super Paper Mario has Tippi, who reveals the unseen and eventually saves the universe...
- Then Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story has Starlow, who not only manages the star menu, but lifts Mario and Luigi away from some typically-unavoidable attacks and even lock onto the Falling Star...
- The Paper Mario games have Goomba partners who give info AND prove helpful in combat...
- Issun of Okami fame can become a killing machine by using the spammable Thief's Glove skill...
- And Spirit Tracks has Zelda, who can take over Phantom Knights.
- ...And what's Navi of Ocarina of Time do besides shout? She's also of no merit whatsoever during the final fight!

She only helps when
a)You're truly stuck and even then, she's a scrooge and only gives clues
b)You're postponing the storyline with an extensive, boring pointless sidequest....

Same with Tatl but everyone still likes her! D8 Is it because she's bitchy that everyone mistakes it for "spunk"? Or is it because she's part of the story? Navi is part of MM too... you know, the whole "Link looking for his friend" thing.

But at least Tatl was of help during the final battle.

The armor behind him vaugely reminds me of some Fullmetal Alchemist with the Ed and Al moments..
