It's been like a year since you did this, but I think I know what makes it "weird". The eyes are more solid and stick out. Maybe if they were a bit fuzzier, they'd blend better? I'm not very artistic, I just figured I'd point it out.
Also, if you do for whatever reason decide to change it, I'd put it up as a different image, instead of updating this one. People seem to like it as-is. Me being one of them. :3
