entry for the Halloween contest atEsther fending off a crowling with a web of iron charms in Iadlain. Iollans bell tower in the distance.
first time using texture for the face aswell. Uncanny Valley hits critically.

edit: in hindsight, with the flat side view and the simple background, it kinda looks like a parallax scrolling 2.5D game

Jesus christ, giant crows and banabogs, Iadlain is such a crazy place!

but the giant crow isnt so bad. I imagined it being a regular crow having grown out of proportion because of the magic in the air there like radioactivity. Because of its size it's too heavy to fly but the hollow bones are to weak to push the trees over, so it's at a disatvantage in the tightly forested wispwood. Though its dexterity and brutal beak would make it still dangerous.

You draw Iadlain the best (with Numbers being an exception just because........ mods rule). It looks awesome. The textures are all so very realistic. Her dress reminds me of the art of Klimt, but prettier.
Good choice for a color scheme too. It helps to focus all of the attention on Esther and the crow while the moon hiding behind the tower creates an extra layer of depth with that contrast and overlap.

hahaa thank you <3 I looked up Klimt, awesome art! Though I'd like to note that Esther isn't wearing a dress. Those are a loooot of amulets, charms, talisman etc that are hanging from her clothes. I admit they're a bitch to depict and an impracticable wear. But its pruddy. eue)

Lol. I love the fact that they are talismans. I think it makes her even more intersting. She certainly stands out. She has her own personality, to be certain. I think you did a reasonable job depicting them. It would be hard to pain THAT many of them from a distance.
I honestly thought the color scheme was just a way of controling the focus to the Crowling and Esther.
Btw, Elster sounds better to me. I love either. She gives new power to the name Esther.
