Description Something I whipped up real quick today.

After being abandoned on prehistoric earth after the Beast Wars, Waspinator became king of a small cave man tribe until they realized they were smarter than him, and catapulted him into the sky.
Starscream's invincible spark seized the opportunity, and took over Waspinator's body, ready to execute his evil plan.
Using the remains of transmetal 2 technology left behind from the Beast Wars, Starscream was able to give himself a new form. Little did he know, Waspinator also had a mutant spark that could not die, so it was impossible to completely wipe him out.
Although Starscream is about 80% his old self, but smaller, he struggles with Waspinator's temporarily emerging consciousness. After so much planning and perfect execution, Starscream is tortured by the fact that he occasionally becomes a mentally challenged insect. He begins his journey through the stars alone, to Cybertron.

Good recontextualizing of Transmetal Waspinator. I mean, Megatron and Optimus changed when they got new sparks implanted in them post-Quantum Surge, so it makes sense the influence of Starscream's spark would cause Waspy to change, too.

Thanks! I thought it made some sense too.

I can just imagine Starscream being the one to use the Jet Mode, while Waspinator being the only one with access to the Beast Mode. Now that I think about it, it's kind of a sort of Animated Blitzwing kinda thing with the whole "one personality gets only one altmode" thing, especially now that there's no third party to claim both.

I have this figure laying in my trunk next to my old pile of comic books. Loved Waspinator and love the idea of him being turned into Starscream's bitch again. Just wish I wasn't missing a section of the wings. Not sure where that ran to or how to replace it.

I was missing that same part. I was lucky enough to get a junker that had it left over from a commission. Made mine complete!

Think I found a bit of it on Ebay. Time to pay blood to ship assuming it's the correct side or reversible!

amazing, is this mold naturally in this form, or is this scratchbuilt?

and would you share what kind of brushes and paint you use?

Unicron9 In reply to LimeWire-Customs [2011-04-05 00:23:51 +0000 UTC]

Almost no brushes here, except touching up details, but I usually use a random assortment of brushes, mostly fine or short tipped.
The figure is un-modded Transmetal 2 Waspinator. I painted him in metallic layered spray paints and buffed the colored metallic finishes to make them shine.
Using metallic sprays with masking is my favorite way to do metallics on figures and it takes very little time compared to tamiya or testors sprays, or brush paints. 10-30 min dry times per layer.

Now /THIS/ is a custom! I love it! Is Starscream going up for sale, or are you keeping him? I want to own him soooo badly.

Did you think about doing a head swap? I'm not complaining, I'm just curious if you entertained the idea.

Yes I did consider a Starscream head but I don't have one around to spare. He's using Waspy's body though so he got stuck with the ugly mug I guess, heh.
Yeah I just did him for myself to go on the wall with the other BW bugs.
