I love them! I like that the first and the second one are basically the same but with *extreme* environmental differences.
The third is my favourite, that obelisk is so eerie and I like the golden tone of the whole picture. Grass looks a little "fake" as I'd expect to see it more blurred, but it's not a big problem imho.
In the fourth, I like the light blue reflection in the lower part of the ice, it's a great effect.
The fifth looks good too, it's just I'm not very fond of that kind of environment. Water reflections should be more blurred but, as I said before, it's not a telltale problem.
BTW I noticed that in some of your environments you put elements like trees or mountains at the far left and right of the picture, as to "frame" the composition inside. Is it meant to be like that or it's a coincidence?

Thanks! no thumbnails beforehand, I sort of pictured something I wanted to paint, often just like a mood of the picture, it could be like I wanted to paint very yellowish grass, have some waterfalls and stuff, with alot of brown and yellow colors, than I start the picture by painting the sky color and block in each element, like forground, background, mountains and give them a color I like, thats like composition part, just trying to find shapes in mountains and stuff.
Than I start adding detail in each layer, detailing out mountains, adding fogg.
But anyway to the question, I think I got some inspiration from lord of the rings even if I didnt intend to, I was watching all 3 of them during the paintings.
Sometimes I do thumbnails, or look at picture/photos for inspiration
