and AAwwww..β₯Hope misses Vanille's smile and I think that smile of vanille is the one he refers to, besides that's the very first time they met and first time vanille smiled at him and comforted him.:3and I don't think Hope really joked about saying it makes me happy when you smile.(not really sure about the lines though

He was referring to Vanille's smile because that's the only one he mentions liking in the entire series. Plus, there's a scene in one of the games where Lightning notices that Hope is happy and asks if it's Vanille. He doesn't deny her, though, but he does tell Light to stop teasing him, kinda showing his tsundere side.

The English version somehow does not correct.
In Japanese ver, that momment Hope smiles and says : " Boku wa anata no egao wa sukida kara " , which means " I really LOVE your smile " ( suki = love ) , not just " it makes me happy when you smile "

Although I'm a Promanille (PromtoXVanille) and a HopeXSomeoneHisOwnAge (could be yuel) fan, I still like this cuz atleast it's not a LightningXhope gif (Light and hope are like mom&kid, master&student, bro&sis or just friends, but not MORE, in my POV). Here, the way the scene literally 'slides down' to vanille, her stance and how she turned to the camera is just EPIC. And now that I think about it, I think you're gifted with the ability to capture/select the right moments for the theme. AWESOME.
