Description This is a "study" of Velociraptor mongoliensis. Differences between male and female are speculative, but I gave the male more colour and a little crest on the head. I have inspiration on some draws by Luis V. Rey and also in skeleton reconstruction by many other paleoartist.

A million times yes. I need to see more images like this. Β I'm doing some of my own and I've seen about enough "big birds with teeth".

are you just too ignorant to know the truth? this was made in 2005, before 2016. those "Big birds with teeth" depictions are accurate for the time that your comment was made, and still now, but this depiction was accurate in 2005

What the shit are you bitching about? Grow up. Also while you're at it, learn anatomy, specifically bone structure.

Hmm, not like I use skeletals as references or something like that...

...of both the dinosaur and modern animals.Β  My entire argument of "birds with teeth"refers to the rather extreme difference between a velociraptor skeleton and a bird skeleton.Β  They are very little alike and yet somehow we have a ball of fluff with teeth which would be the result of forcing the animal's skeleton to form in ways that just don't make sense.Β  That would actually have broken the animal's bones.

Are you talking about my velociraptor?

Ive never usually seen Dromaeosaurs and other dinosaurs depicted as you say they are. A lot of people use skeletons to base off their reconstructions, like I have. I'd like to see what a "Big bird with teeth" reconstruction your talking about. Also realize thatΒ unlobogris ' Velociraptor is shrinkwrapped.

I'd have to look at it again. I meant in general, this has been an ongoing issue for several years.Β  It was really popular about what, five years ago? Literally just paintings of modern birds with little lizard faces.Β

Muchas gracias!

I think I'm a litlle out-a-date about this. Do scientists now know that raptors once had feathers?
BTW, the first feathered raptors that I see and I like. Grat work.

Awsome. Very...hm, how to put this......scientific. Y'know what I mean, right? How you actually used what science knows about the differences in feather coloration of male and female birds when drawing this.

I'll fave this before I start rambling.

Cool interpretation, very well drawn, I couldn't have done it any better.

The only thing is you would only be able to tell wich is wich if the signs weren't there, actually the bones of male and female are different...the pubic bone to be exact, whence I thought it would show from the outside.
