Description Another shot for all the clouded leopard fans out there. I used this shot as my windows background for quite a while because the tree trunk made a great icon background This is another shot of "Ming" from the Nashville Zoo by the way

When I read that title I said to myself, if that's a pic of a cloudy with his mouth open, I'll squeal. And I did. One of my favorite things about clouded leopards are their teeth. Did you know a 30lb clouded leopard has canine teeth the same size as a tiger? Must fave this one, and you have officially taken over my most recent favorites list. *hugsMing*

Glad you liked it I had heard a statistic similar to yours, probably from one of the keepers at the zoo. It really is amazing. If I had not looked at the canines of both cloudys and tigers I probably wouldent have believed it. They say that cloudys have the longest canine teeth relative to their size of any living species of cat. This has led to speculation that they may be a distant descendent of the saber-tooth tigers. Anyway, I do know that Ming's canines are around 2 inches long, which is huge for a cat that size. They really are amazing creatures

Every time I look at one of your cloudy pictures they go up one rung on my favorite animals ladder, they're probably just under snakes now, and that's saying something. I need to find out if the have cloudys at the Bronx zoo.

Last I heard they did not have any ... I hope I am wrong about there not being any there, but there are only around 120 of them in the US and I could not find any mention of them on the Bronx zoo website or on the Clouded Leopard Project Homepage.
