PERSONALITY
Passionate | Kindly | Charming
♦ Since middle childhood Joules has shown a great passion toward every form of arts, especially for ballet and violin, following his own high standard of performance.
♦ Once you get to know him, you will find Joules can be really charming with his well-mannered attitude and kindness, something he values as the only right way of life. He avoids vulgarity, finding he earns more respect in choosing his words carefully, and presenting himself as a proper gentleman.
♦ Joules would be positive and acts kindly toward whoever approaches him, especially those he sees frequently in his life such as classmates and teachers. If they need something, or just seem to be having a bad day he'd offer up encouragement to brighten their day.
Pensive | Distracted | Anxious
♦ Joules is always thinking about something. Pensive in nature, he is often getting lost in his own thoughts lost in the past, or simply taking in his surroundings.
♦ Its true Joules is pensive, but this nature can also lead to easy distraction and boredom. One minute he might be holding friendly conversation, and the next he's thinking about what kind of caterpillar that butterfly passing by might have been, causing him to be derailed and lose his train of thought. He's easily bored and this is a coping mechanism to keep his mind busy.
♦ His drive for perfection has caused him anxiety, always second guessing if he's practied enough, or studied hard enough. On the one hand, fear of failure pushes him to do his best, on the other at times it can get in the way of enjoying and living his life.
Wary | Disconnected | Disingenuous
♦ Joules is wary of others. Despite being friendly and putting on a fake face to earn their attention, he's slow to welcome people in, convinced the world is every bit as fake as he is and that fronts exist to find success. Because of this he has trust issues and is always expecting a knife in the back.
♦ His true self is disconnected from others. While he can put on a front of a friendly outgoing person, his trust issues leave him emotionally isolated, cutting off connections from others to protect himself from getting hurt.
♦ Can be very disingenuous. He knows what to say to people to get what he wants, and what he wants is to be praised. He'll say anything to get you to like him, even if he's lying through his teeth, whatever it takes to puff up his already huge ego. You know you're his friend if he is willing to give you a cold hard truth. The number of people who fall into his circle of trust are far and few between.
LIKE "Those are my passions! You must work everyday if you want to excel in what you love, hm??”

Loud Noises | Spiders | Rain | Being yelled at | Arrogant and snobbish people | Physical contact
HISTORY
Born in a lower class family in the countryside and merely being labeled as a white trash from the other children and their families, Joules as always found himself facing a malice behavior from everyone whom surrounded him. His father, who gathered money here and there working as a handyman and his mother, a sassy, bitter and hardworking waitress at the local eatery was not what was consider an abitual family. Since early childhood Joules suffered from abused both physical and mental by both his parents; things such as insults, shouts and being beat up was on the agenda for him and all of this did nothing but leading him to consider abuse a normal thing. Regardless being so young he already knew that this was not the life he wanted and he would have done anything to get away from that home and his parents. Even his mother in her best moments did not failed to remind him that if he did not wanted to be a failure like his father, he would have to study much more than his classmates, to carry on again and again, to become someone who deserve better and get off that home. It was in that moment, before he was even 5 years old that the boy started to work hard on everything he could: if he had to go haunt with his father in the morning and to cut the wood before going at school then he would have do that but for no reason in the world he would have give up his studies.
Probably one of the main reason of the continuous fight with his father was related due to his health condition: indeed the boy, born with a congenital heart defect that prevented him to get too fatigued, was not an ideal son to help at home as he needed to rest a lot in his early years of life, not to mention the cost of medicines something that was always present in their speeches. Luck wanted that before the youth's seventh birthday, thanks to a reporting from the local primary school to the police the boy was taken and given in custody to the maternal grandmother, who lived in the city and had never had occasion to met the child until that day. The woman was a kind widow who worked at the theatre in her spare time, helping the classes with the youngest children to dance. She was not rich nor poor, one could say she had what she needed and didn't wanted anything more than that.
Act as the person you want to be not the one you was forced to be.
That was the most important lesson the old woman gave him and Joules took those words to heart. Even though he was used to attending the primary school, his skittish behavior left him seeming out of place. While he adjusted to his new life his grandmother decided it was best to home-school him until he worked through some of his anxieties. By the time he was 12 his Grandmother was convinced she'd taught him everything she could and he was enrolled into a public school. He was still a bit of an odd kid but he'd slowly learned to communicate and function around others. Indeed he was an average boy who delighted himself such 'noble manners and hobbies', acting like a well mannered dandy despite being neither rich nor noble.
As he grew older, Joules found himself delving into his passion, . He loved the ballet: he approached that world thanks to his grandma who used to took him at the theatre in a hope of seeing him finding new friends. He soon found himself practicing in the classes and learning with the other kids. Picking up on his Grandmas lessons he'd even begged her to teach him at home, spending all of his free time practicing. In his pre-teen and teen years Joules focused on the dance even more than in the school, exercising his routines all the day long almost everyday. Nobody could have imagined that such a sophisticated and elegant boy had suffered a childhood like the one he'd had before he'd met his grandmother. His grades began to fall, and after a threat to pull the plug on his dance lessons, Joules had no choice but to put his focus back into academia. It was time to work for his future and, as his mother used to say, studying was an important part of life. Since those days the life of Joules had kept going on; he was a good student with plenty of interests and some good skills in arts and physical education. His heart defect did not bothered him too much as the many surgeries had been, for the most part successful. He knew what to do or what to avoid for his own health and besides being careful after long rehearsal session he had not much to worry about.
One day though after a normal medical examination a letter arrived at the residence of his family.
Upon being accepted to Crowhaven
It was a sunny morning and the youth had just came back home after a heating run at the park near the house. Joules thought that his grandma was still asleep as she was used to rest until breakfast but surprisingly the curtain of their windows was all open with the light that was shining over the glass. Oh.. is she already awake? He thought as opening the door while holding a bag full of sweets in his arms. "Grandma I'm back home! I bought our breakfast at the patisserie La Colombe". As soon as the youth reached the living room, the kind woman handed out a letter toward him. Did you applied for that school? Oh mon chou I knew that moment will have come soon or later!". The youth simply smiled at the woman, leaning the food over a table and taking the letter. "Did I? Oh those are my medical examination did the mailman delivered those together?". The blonde haired nodded as checking if there was any more informations in the letter. Well if there is a letter I must have applied for that school? He didn't had any memory about applying for such a school but from the letter it was easy to tell it was some prestigious academy and let's face it, there was nothing more he could ask for. "A scholarship too! That's a bless from even Meme!". Regardless his enthusiasm the separataion was indeed hard for both of them; the blonde haired was not full of friends and the only person who would have never leave was his grandmother but it was something inevitable. It could have been that school or another but there was nothing left to do, it was time to leave. It happened really fast as just two months later he had to shown in a pick up location, ready to leave for the school.
