Description This picture was to learn a radiosity within POV-Ray. It works great
Besides, I was training some other things... btw, this solid here is a spiral ball described by M.C.Escher - interesting shape, isn't it?

Ach... what you can see in a reflection, is one of my Terragen renders...

POV-Ray
resolution: 1280x1024

Beautifully done, especially the reflections. The spiral ball is a very interesting form.

Thanks a lot
Although this image isn't perfect from the technical point of view... I have to learn more

i agree with hapax, it needs a little more Anti-aliasing...and maybe a little less reflection grain...otherwise, nice spiral ball

Yep, I know... although I gave up - anit-aliasing was with a 0.8 radius, and when I polished this surface more, it gone all-white from the light arrrghhh...

Funky stuff.
Jaggies strike again though.

Thanks
The jaggies... well, part of them are JPEG's fault (PNG source image took 3MB ). And the rest... I set antialiasing to 0.8 already. When I was trying to make this red material little more polished, it turned all-white from the light... uch, I finally gave up after three days of fighting with only this thing.

Heh, sounds like a lot of hassle. Still looks good.

I've read all the info about antialiasing in povray now I know quite more... you can see it in the Lumpy Torus , although it's not perfect again - the shape of the solid has some errors in itself After I made all the pic and rendered it (only 4,5 hours...) I realized I could make the exact same shape with blobs - thus without those annoying errors... och well.
Yeah, povray has some really good antialiasing toys - but some of them can take so much time to render... uch.
