Description Azshara revealing herself to Malfurion at Nazj'vel in southern Darkshore.Ā

I based this art on the Quest from WoW (Cataclysm): The Offering to Azshara

You need to stop the Darkscale Priestesses from offering the Horn of the Ancients to Azshara. After you killed them, Azshara reveals herself to Malfurion and succesfully diverts his attention from Hyjal.

Wonder if Azshara still have that spell that makes everyone love her, wouldn't suprise me since so many Naga follow her still. Also that could make other races willingly become their slaves under water or just food for them But this piece is epic indeed without a doubt.

If I was a Naga I would probably follow her due to the fact that it's fight or flight out in the ocean. Giant squids, ocean demigods, humans and their nets, pirates, the Kvaldir, huge swarms of murlocs. Not much of a choice there.

Thats true, but some nagas have joined other factions. Some Illidan as we know and others have joined the elemental water lord ( forgotten his name ), but I think that nagas just make their hatred for other races stronger and stronger, much like pointless racism. Instead of telling the newest generation that the first Nagas brought this curse upon them all.

But we will see if they make an expansion with old gods and nagas

With the Old Gods' corruption and Naga Propaganda, I'm not suprised with all their pointless hate, and continuing with the point that if I was a Naga, Lord Illidan Stormrage is my way to go.

Illidan is powerfull leader, but he's really touched in the head. He might just suddenly realize one day that for his glorious failproof plans he urgently needs a glue cooked from naga bone or something like that.

Illidan would be a nice choice, but I think I'd either try and rejoin the Night elfs or maybe Blood elfs since some Nagas was friends with them in outland. Or just cruise the seas helping ppl in need

I like your version of Azshara over Blizzard's design.

Haha well I hope you do not mean the placeholder Lady Vashj model to represent Azshara in the quest. Because there is not much competition there.

Now THAT looks truly frightening. So much better than a reused Lady Vashj model without any voice acting. I was so disappointing that she only got a tiny bit of face time, and only to do the typical "I'm the bad guy, I'm going to reveal all my plans now, while you still have time to stop them, mwahahahah!"

"I'm the bad guy, I'm going to reveal all my plans now, while you still have time to stop them, mwahahahah!"

Ya I agree that is so true! It really makes Azshara another pathetic boring badguy. I hope Blizzard has more in store for her than the 'usual' bad guy..

I agree, she has too much cool lore to just be that "I pop in occasionally to be easily thwarted." I was hoping that the next expansion would be the naga one. Nope, no such luck. They just kidnapped the elemental lord of water and took over his domain, but they're not planning anything. Gdi blizz.

Ya and you know what?Ā
When the naga expansion finally releases, good ol'Neptulon is fineeeee! He's not dead! ^^*
Of course not, because Azshara waited the whole time for her expansion to give players the oppurtunity to free Neptulon.Ā

For me it is clear that Azshara wants to rule the oceans. Neptulon stands in her way, so she wants to kill him. Neptulon is now in her hands (as of Cataclysm). Azshara is more powerful than anyone can dream of in her current state. I mean even before she got the powers of the old Gods she was almost as powerful as Archimonde. Now imagine her new Old God powers together with then thousand years of growing power without being disturbed..Ā

My point:

She can blink her eyes and Neptulon is dead.
So if she really wants him dead, Neptulon is already dead since the end of the Cataclysm. But of course,... unfortunately, Azshara will be a dumbass badguy who keeps him alive in her palace so that players can free Neptulon eventually... xDĀ

I really hope I am wrong and Neptulon is indeed dead.

For-The-Darkspear In reply to Vaanel [2013-11-18 21:05:02 +0000 UTC]

That would suck if she was that much of a dumbass. It really, really would. I mean... her LACKEYS captured Neptulon like it wasn't anything, just imagine what she can do now. She's probably laughing going "ah, deathwing, you were such a sissy." She has to be a genius with a plan, why else would she personally still be hiding after ten thousand years? Except for that one appearance...

Vaanel In reply to For-The-Darkspear [2013-11-18 23:10:57 +0000 UTC]

Yea, that one appearance which Blizzard should have left out because it wasn't necessary. Oh well. Don't get your hopes up.Ā
I mean she could even be used as some Patch boss! lol

Honestly I am not expecting any epic story around the Return of Azshara. I am 75% sure that it will be lame. :-/

Yeah... have one of her lackeys do it. No reused model. Even Lady Naz'jar got her own model!

Truly epic moment ! I was so disappointed by the quest because of the only 'new' model was Malfurion's. Well, now there is an epic representation of this moment. GG dude !

Vaanel In reply to Krithias [2013-11-18 10:54:53 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much.Ā
I was disapointed as well by the model of the quest but certainly not surprised. It would be strange of Blizzard to create a unique model for 1 quest only.

I do think that it would have been a better idea to not have Azshara herself in that quest but rather one of her more powerful minions. I think this quest kinda ruins

the comeback of Azshara. I mean before this happened no one was certain that Azshara was alive and transformed to a naga right (they saw naga but noone saw Azshara herself)? Now the surprise is ruined by

a short cameo role which I dont know why it requried Azshara herself to play in that.Ā

I still don't understand why they felt the need to waste such the return of such a powerful villain on a cameo during a lowbie quest, but not even give her an appropriate model. Hopefully things will be different next time we see Queen Azshara in-game.
