It's a French-language play by Irish author Samuel Beckett.
The plot: Two men named Estragon and Vladimir wait by a small tree for their friend, the eponymous Godot.
Spoiler alert: Godot never arrives.

I've read extracts of it, but have never really investigated it further than that. Sounds interesting.

This is hilarical (new word) As soon as I saw them, and read the first bit, I could see where it was going. Once I got there - it didn't dissapoint.

I... can't understand Godot's place in this one. x.x Everyone else's pun is easy to understand but what's Godot's? o.o

Hehe, there isn't a pun, that's the joke. He is one of the only Ace Attorney characters whose name doesn't have a pun. So he's irregular! xD

A thing abut Godot's name is that some people fail to understand how his name is pronounced. Its actually pronounced Goodoe not Godot. Sorry I always feel like I have to point that out.

VaeteliaX In reply to clamz94 [2011-03-06 21:05:29 +0000 UTC]
I thought it was pronounced Go-doh? Haha, I do prefer it as God-ot though, just because that was how I first read it. x3

clamz94 In reply to VaeteliaX [2011-03-06 22:06:00 +0000 UTC]
Well there is some confusion on how his name is pronounced. Some say Godot some say Godoh and some say Goodoe. I first heard it was Goodoe but I suppose Godoh would make more since Godot is incorrect.

Unfortunately, Godot is wrong. I kinda like it that way.

I agree, I also found out the Godoh is the correct way to pronounce it.

My brother and I came up with a pun which you could have used.
Even though we know we mispronounce it, we say Godot like "Got it"
My brother and I were working on a Phoenix Wright crackfiction, and he said a line which he wanted in the story, and I repeated it back like this
"blahblahblahinsertlinehereblah, right?"
"Got it."
I kind of laughed before responding "Wow, that was a little edgy, don't you think?
He responded with "All these puns are apolloing."

Ahh, me and my sister misprounounce it too! I hate that it's "Go-doh" rather than "God-ot."
And I love those puns! xD 'Apolloing.' That one made me crack up!

You know, it's actually pronounced Go-Doe. Exactly like that. I personally hate it and just call him God-Ott. ^^

OH I KNOW I KNOW
You could've put in Klavier and put in "Don't ever Gavin!" 8D Eh? Eh? *shot* Lame pun is lame... plus it doesn't make any sense with the rest of the text. XD But I tried!

Oh, if only I'd thought of that before! Curse you brain for being so slow and crap! D:
Hehe, good one. I like the lame puns that are lame. I very much like the play on "Gavin" to sound like "give in".
Lololol, explaining obvious things is bad, but 'tis me! xD
