Description Though the days were steadily becoming longer and longer as winter drew to a close, the frigid winds were persistent as ever and whipped around Nix as he walked home to his apartment. He had just finished up work at the forge and though he was tempted to turn back and bask in the warmth of the furnaces, he'd much rather hurry home to his partner's embrace.

After making it through the snowy streets and fiddling with the keys, he had finally made it back but upon closing the door he noticed not a single light had been lit. He haphazardly placed his belongs on the dining table and proceeded to light the various lanterns around the room. Nix's magic glands glowed a gentle red and a small flame fizzed to life, and then another and another until the entire room had become bright.

"Zinna?" He called for his partner. She was normally home before him and already preoccupied with something. He searched the bedroom and the study and even the wash room, but there was no sign of his beloved girlfriend anywhere. It wasn't the first time she'd come home late, so he wasn't too worried. Rather than fret around he decided to get a start on dinner. He pulled out vegetables, cured meats, and everything he needed and just as he lit their tiny stove, the door burst open.

"Hey hun!! I found so many cool things today!" Zinna exclaimed, startling Nix and almost making him drop the flame he conjured on the counter. He simply shook it off and turned around to face the newcomer.

"Oh hey, Z! You're a home a little late" Nix mused as he watched his girlfriend set down several bags and a basket on their couch. She then skipped over to the kitchen and gave him a loving snoot boot. Though as she went to skip back over to the couch and started chattering on about her adventures of the day, Nix noticed something. Zinna's right arm and legs had numerous scrapes and scratches. Some rather bad ones at that.

"Hey Z, just come sit here for a moment while you tell me about your day, okay?" He urged. Nix had pulled out a jar of green leaves from a cabinet and went to sit at the dinning table, patting the seat beside him for Zinna to join.

"Hm? Oh yeah sure!" Zinna replied. She came and sat down next to him before continuing to talk about wynglings and flowers and some gro at the market that desperately wanted to trade for a herb she found in the woods. While still listening to her snippets of story, Nix's magic glands glowed a bright green and he gently grabbed Zinna's hand to stretch out her arm before placing a leaf atop the ugly scrapes and steadily healing them. Nix finished fixing all of Zinna's injuries just as she ended her tale of grand adventures.

"So, between all of those amazing things you did, when on Ennth did you get such wounds my lady? Was it when you were gracefully bounding through the trees?" Nix asked her half playful, half serious.

"Oh right! Those" Zinna glanced down at her limbs where there was now only tiny spots of tender flesh.

"Well it was when I was feeding Lasso's Rattle Cattle and I tried climbing the fence while carrying like, three wooden buckets. Long story short don't try to use short cuts sometimes because I fell over and the buckets landed on me. Thank for healing me again though" She said innocently. Nix shook his head with a sigh.

"My dear. you are one of the smartest wyngro I know but I swear your head leaves your body sometimes" He gave her a gentle boop on the cheek to which she smiled.

"Y'know Z, it's nice that I get to practice my magic with you, but still, don't you think it's about time you learnt how to do a bit of earth magic on your own?" Nix asked calmly. Zinna simply shrugged back at him.

"I've tried earth magic once before and it just didn't click for me. It's not as free flowing as wind magic. Plus I don't get hurt that badly, right?" She looked at him a little sheepishly. Nix placed both of her hands into his and looked at her a little more seriously this time.

"That may be so, but you never know when something could go horribly wrong. What if I'm not there to help you in that moment? I really think you should give it another try, Z". Zinna looked away from her partner for a moment, contemplating. Nix took the opportunity to lean in gently and nuzzle into her shoulder, glancing up at her face out of the corner of his eye.

"Okay Nix, I'll give it another try. But don't get mad at me if I fail again" Zinna sighed. Nix sat back up at that moment and smiled at his girlfriend.

"I could never be mad at you, my love. I'll always be here if you need any pointers too".

"I believe Mrs. Netty was advertising some magic classes that should be starting soon. Perhaps you're better off going to her instead of trying to figure earth magic out on your own?" He suggested. Zinna nodded in reply with a small grin.

"Yeah, with Mrs. Netty and you by my side I'm sure I can get the hang of this! Then you don't have to worry so much" Zinna mused at Nix a little. With that, the two decided to carry on with making dinner and unpacking the various items Zinna had found.

The next morning, Nix and Zinna strode over to Mrs. Netty's school and Zinna signed up for the up coming classes. Zinna hoped these classes would finally help her learn a new magic, not just for her sake but for Nix's too.

She would never try to ask him about it, but Zinna could see just how much more worry lay beneath Nix's eyes when he would heal her injuries. It hurt to see all that concern and fear be paired with his beautiful smile. So one day she tried with all of the magical strength she could muster to heal a small scratch, but it was to no avail. Perhaps this time things could be different though? There was only one way to find out.

Just wanted to make this little thing before I start uploading magic class stuff :3

I know this isn't the most descriptive or interesting of stories but I just wanted to hurry up and get it all posted.
