FoD 2019 - Week 1
-------------------
The Festival of Death had always been a period where Hakon halted his continuous travels and decided to stay in one place for a longer time. It had been a tradition in his tribe as well, and even if he was no longer with them, it was a habit he was intent on keeping. Such was the case this year as well, even if the usually cheerful and happy celebration had suddenly turned eerily quiet, sad and melancholic.
Hakon himself had not been there to witness the goddess' demise, but the stories he had heard had painted a clear enough picture of the events. Even in her last moments the goddess had devoted her strength and life for the living beings. Death had always been Hakon's preferred spirit of the two goddesses, and this had just made his beliefs stronger. As such, he had been sure to prepare a copious amount of sacrifices and memorial gifts to the late goddess as he and his kukuris settled in for the festivities. Even the man's kukuris, Nirha and Ratke , seemed to know exactly what had happened and neither of them were in their usual moods. Nirha was uncharacteristically quiet and mellow, whereas Ratke seemed to have withdrawn deep into his shell and wasn't his usual happy self even around his handler. It was painful for Hakon to see his companions so distraught, but there was nothing he could do except give them time to grieve.
