I do agree with you on the whole cross subject; I was afraid while painting it that it'd be a bit to showy, and I did try to tone it down. I think it should have been even more muted, and I should definitely make an effort on my next one and suggest some volume, making it a bit twisted or something. And you're right on the breast shading too.

I think for me it is too strong. Everything is focus point and I don't know where to look at. The main focus is the person or the grave? At first I don't know it s a grave I thought is key or door~haha .lol
Just my opinion. ^^ overall is still good looking just too eye catching.

Awesome bow/necktie thingy. I love aquatic creatures, I would so want that if it was real. I love the splash of orange that it gives throughout the piece. I almost feel like the blue piece in the foreground should be a bit more dull more like the one in the background so it doesn't compete too much with the already bright orange. Especially since it is in the foreground it's a bit distracting being that bright. Otherwise, I love the muted colors mixed with the bright hints c:
