Description
Background: Raman was born and raised out of the Dragon Isles, the native homeland of Erameian Dark elves. Thus, his family didn't treat other races as dirt but were more open-minded towards them - and so was Raman. In fact, when Raman left his hometown to see a bit of the world he met sometimes Dark elves who originated from the Dragon Isles and he was actually shocked to see how arrogant and self-centered his kindred could be. He even started to grow a certain hatred towards his 'own people'.
Even if Raman wasn't like the Dark elves from their homeland, it was hard for him to get along with other races as they presumed every Dark elf to be alike. Eventually, Raman found a place to stay among other Elves who did not care about his darker skin colour. He got interested of magic and learned it from the other elf races. One day a human wizard arrived to the town of the Elves. He was curious to meet a Dark elf mage (it is not common for Dark elves of Erameia to admit their interested towards magic - their old tales usually say magical abilities to be a curse) and after all Raman and the Wizard became friends. When the Wizard was about to leave the town Raman said that he'd leave with him since he wished to learn more of the outside world. After the Erameian Wizard Council declared that all magic users should follow their orders or to be heavily punished, Raman and the Wizard both ended up living in a remote, peaceful valley away from the sight of others.
(After some specific events he became more of a [terrible] thief, but that's another story)

Personality: Raman appears to be quite serious and maybe even grumpy. The truth is, he just hides his uncertainty under a hard shell. He learned via the hard way that he would be shunned because of his race in most of the world and it hit him quite hard. He ended up thinking that he shouldn't even be treated well as he was a Dark elf and his open-mindeness change into the thought of pushing everyone away from himself as they did so for him. During the time he lived with the Elves he slowly learned to trust others more - and himself as well. It still takes time for him to befriend anybody new.
Otherwise, he's intelligent and loves to learn new things. He's not particularly brave and loves peace, he's not too good in a battle but can rather stand for himself (or his friends) in a verbal depate. So instead of relying into violence he rather tries to talk his way out of the trouble (and vanishes quite far away after that). Along with magic he's also interested about herbalism and mixing potions (and poisons) and has a certain liking to rodents, especially rats and rat-like creatures (he even likes to keep them as pets).
