i just have to start off my saying the vision in this piece is amazing!!! I'm just gonna be simple and list he pros and cons.
Cons
-I cant seem to find a defined light source. that isnt so major but still, i always think helps with shading to. I just recommend in your sketch, putting a x for where the light source should be. You can have so much fun with lighting to really amp up the mood of your picture.
-I think the hair could have been don better of both characters. It seems really flat and unrealistic. Try to draw in the hair as it would go. Decide where your characters part is and make all your brush strokes start from there.
-I like how you put his face in the background but i feel like there isnt enough separation from the foreground picture and the background picture. -I am so so so so so jealous of your INCREDIBLY smooth lineart! that is something i envy with passion! I hate doing the lineart! Its a very commendable skill!
-I love the pattern on her shirt! its such a nice detail!
-Anatomy looks almost spot on so great job with that!

i feel i have learned from this and yes its true i really need work on the hair paticuarly and the lighting
i did blur the background but could of done better haha XD as you say

tip for you for lineart - there is a free program called gimp 2.6, use the pathtool helps give you perfect lines every time, took me years to relise that
