It seems the flu shot I got last october worked well. Luckily, my son is doing okay as well. He just had a minor cold during holidays. But the winter isn't over yet ...
I had a horrible flu three years ago despite the shots, and my son was down with an ear infection at the same time (he was three back then). This was the worst. So I can totally relate!
Keep safe!

Thank you. Honestly, I made it a bit more wintery than it actually was.
It's getting colder here, and it has been snowing for the past few hours.

We have snow. TODAY! When we had to drive to the concert of our son. My Mom came with my stepbrother and they had to drive to all this snow and fog.
It's cold enough to keep the snow for now.
We'll go on a walk tomorrow. My son's already excited.

I am very happy for you. Little Mozart will perhaps be inspired by this change in the weather. I hope your time with your family is a good one. [link]

Thank God for perspective. I can remember being obsessed over a girl who I never even think of now. XD. So much for the teen years.
I had insomnia, and managed to see a british movie called Bronson. The star is the guy who plays Bane in the new Batman coming soon.

Oh is this the guy who couldn't be understood in the test viewing because of his accent and the mask he's wearing?
I've watched the new episode of Alcatraz last night because I woke up at midnight and couldn't fall asleep until 2. It isn't even fullmoon but I still think that something is odd.

Yes, I had a relapse of insomnia. What is Alcatraz about? I have seen as for it, but I am not certain I understand it.
Yes, I heard that they had to re-dub his audio. It is his accent - and I guess Bane's mask does not help.

You're contagious. I didn't sleep well last night.
It's hard to tell where Alcatraz is going to. It's a mystery series and is a bit like "Lost".
It starts with a voice-over where one of the main caracters (played by Sam Neill) is telling that Alcatraz was closed in 1963 due to the high costs, but that is not what happened, "not at all". The series tells that one night all of the inmates and guardians suddenly vanished. And now they're coming back one by one - not aged one single day, a bit more criminal/brutal than they used to be. Nobody knows why and even they just seem to follow orders but can't remember whose. FBI agent Hauser (Sam Neill) who was one of the two guardians who found the prison empty one night back in 1963 is still doing his job, meaning he's taking care of those who vanished. He seems to have a whole department of his own (it's yet to be determined if it's a secret department and if his operation is official or if he even is an FBI agent - there are too many questions and secrets at the moment). They even rebuilt the prison underground, and he puts those who could be captured down there in order to know why they came back. He gets help from a young police officer, Rebecca, who lost her partner while chasing a criminal (who turns out to be her grandfather who was - not as she was told all of her life a guardian - but actually an inmate). Btw, this scene resembles a lot a scene from Hitchcock's Vertigo. Anyways, Rebecca gets involved in the first case and is hired for the FBI operation. She asks Dr. Diego "Doc" Soto for help as he is the author of books on Alcatraz and has a deep insight. He's kind of a nerd caracter, has a PhD in both Criminal Justice and Civil War History, but owns a comic book store and writes and draws his own comics. His special interest in Alcatraz isn't clear as of yet, but it has been stated that something happened to him at the age of 11, which makes him a more emotional caracter in contrast to Rebecca who is all detective-like and focused, and of course in contrast to Hauser who is so very closed and overly focused on his goal of getting all "his" inmates and guardians back, but holding back a lot of information. Hauser has an assistant who gets shot already in ep 2, where we also learn that she obviously isn't the person she's supposed to be. In a flashback she's presented as a psychiatrist who wants to take away the memories of the inmates in order to make them better persons. But as of yet it's unclear if they are one person. Also the prison doctor is still here - not aged - and working for the FBI. Rebecca and Soto don't know about all of this, so there will be clearly a lot of conflicts in future episodes, especially because they now already found two keys that the returning inmates obviously had to find. Of course, Hauser doesn't tell what they open - and Rebecca is getting more and more upset about this behaviour.
You see - all very mysterious
I like the camera work and the flashbacks - they use less colours for the flashbacks and every switch to the present day is overlayed by a closing cell door.
I hope the series lasts long enough. I don't like criminal plots that much, but this show does leave enough of questions to get me hooked

I do not watch much of anything these days, but it sounds interesting. You should write reviews. You summed it up so nicely - and like a professional critic.
I was watching cutscenes on Youtube from the game Arkham Asylum and Arkham city - (both about Batman). Interesting stuff.
I fell asleep sitting up again. I hate that. I wake up all sore XD. I hope things are well, and you enjoyed the snow. We have winter temperatures again, but no snow. I am sad that we did not have a lot of snow. I really am a little kid when it comes to that.

I was writing this just between school bus and breakfast, so I'm glad I made it sound a bit interesting. And I actually do write reviews, just not for movies and not in English, so
I haven't seen the new Batman movies as of yet. Batman begins aired on television already, but the schedule was bad.
My son likes the older Batman movies, although I think he still isn't old enough.
But he is also a huge fan of Spiderman. When I told him that there will be a new movie this year he go all excited, and I tried to explain him that will probably not be allowed to see it. I'm sure it will be rated for 12 years up. He replied: "Oh no, I have to go! I am a fan. I will dress up and take all of my DVDs with me to prove it, and then they'll have to let me in."
Don't get too excited, but it snowed again today. It is very cold - I LOVE this cold, because it's dry and sunny. Maybe we'll still have snow tomorrow. But I suspect there's no way to make a snow sculpture this year. We just don't have enough snow, and this little snow is like powder ...
We made two small Fimo sculptures today. I'm going to take pictures later

I would like to see your Fimo sculptures- what is Fimo?
Even when you have a lot of snow, the conditions must be just right. There will probably not be any real snow this winter, and that is probably why this has not been the best winter.
Watch the 2 new Batman movies if you can, they are pretty good (but not for kids). I did not think the Spiderman movies were bad, but the last one became ridiculous. XD. That dance scene was classic Raimi. He always gets too absurd, usually ruining his movies.
Yes, you should write your own movie review blog. You like movies from all ages and have a good perspective.

Fimo is some kind of clay. We had something similar when I was a kid. You can bake it. I'm going to take pictures later. We're planing on using the rest of the clay to make a small Easter bunny today. We'll see ...
Well, the snow is already gone, but it still is cold. I guess it is even too cold for snow. Last year when we had so much snow, the temperatures dropped heavily only when we already had these masses of snow.
You mean the supernatural bad black spiderman? I kinda hated that too. I have to say that I know next to nothing about Spiderman as we don't know the original comic books (two or three omnibus books are available here, but they're ridiculously expensive). So, I have to live with what's offered by the movies.
True, the dance scene was rather absurd. I usually go and do something else when the scene is up. But in general I still liked the movie although it had that cheesy photoshop look near the end when Harry died.
I don't have time for much more than my one blog, and I'm putting everything I have to tell in this one single blog. I can barely tell what people want me to write about - my blog isn't that popular, and I love to change subjects because I can't write book reviews on a daily basis, and I don't have too much to say about my writing (still major writer's block). The popularity of the posts seems to vary, so I tend to think that it's good to keep it that way. Last week I wrote about my "movie marathon". In December someone had started a meme (or whatever this is called in blogosphere) about movies, and one questions was which movie one always wanted to see but never made it to. I had named a bunch of classics that I wanted to see for various reasons, and when I was down with by strained back during holidays I finally had my Jean Harlow marathon. I didn't write a review, just my impressions. I'm going to do the same with "Splendor in the Grass" someday next week. If someone reads it, okay, if not, still okay
But before, I will have to finish that everlasting fantasy book I've started to read already 3 weeks ago.

Venom was Spiderman's shadow. He was everything Spidey was not. He was animalistic, vicious, and vindictive. Despite his own self doubts, Spidey was a noble person. So, Venom both loved and hated Spiderman.
I did not like that 3rd Spiderman either. It was strange- Raimi strange.
That is Harley Quinn, the Joker's girlfriend. Although, in the more brutal depictions of the Joker (the truer ones in my mind) he is too psychotic to have anyone close to him. In his vague origins, he was once a lovable guy who was a failed comedian. When his wife died in an absurd accident (and after he was forced into assisting in a robbery which resulted in him falling into a chemical tank), he went over the edge. He sees all life as absurd and meaningless. It is all a joke.
Good luck with your week. Hopefully you will get to snap some pictures.

I did so much shoveling the last few years. I had to dig my own car out, then shovel my parent's driveway. But, I liked being outside at night shoveling and making snow sculptures.
