This was a contest entry for Everquest 2's Notable Norrathians.I wasnt going to join, because my account has been expired for a very long time, and I wasn't sure that it would be worth paying just to join a contest. But then I read the rules that said I could do a mail in entry.. two days fromt he day the contest closed. So yeah, this was a quicky, and Im positive I could have done better if I had given it more time.
The top ten winners of the contest get to have their images made into in game artwork for players to decorate their homes with, how cool is that?
Even cooler? I was one of the top ten, along with and Go TAC Girls!!!

I hadn't seen the second, I am hoping you can still purchase these paintings. I am quite into EQ2 extended, wish I would have tried it ages ago, for free it's quite nice.

Seeing a few of the ones that DID make it, I was actually extremely depressed and canceled my Plat Club subscription and stopped making art for a while. It was the final blow in a series of disappointments. I'm trying to get back into it, but I still have that doubt hanging over my head.

ugh hun, dont take it personally, there were a few of really awesome pics that didn't make it. Honestly, with contests you can never go in expecting, or even hoping to win, there are too many variables. You know I hardly ever win anything, lol. ( up til revcently I could say never. )
You're really a great artist and you already know so much more than I do in alot of area's so don't let it get you down. A contest is never a fair judge of your ability or talent.
You and I should do an art trade sometime, I think. *nod*

And you're right, I shouldn't use contests as a judge of my skills, since you never what what criteria the judges may be using, as it seems very frequently it's NOT the quality of the art!
I'm sad I had to miss the last TAC art exchange because of my move. I hope they do another soon, I love those!

Yeah I loved the Bootstrutter one too, but you shouldnt feel bad, its just confirmation that skill isnt everything to the judges.. obviously, lol. ( and honestly, thats the case quite often, you gotta wonder if the judges have difficulty seeing or something.. >< )
As for TAC everts, Eve and I will be hosting another soon, so I expect you to join in!
