Hitomi pulled off her gloves and massaged her sore knuckles. Come the next morning, the rest of her will probably just as stiff and sore, but for now, she was still riding on the last few drops of adrenaline still in her blood.

”Next time,” she told herself. Getting second place in the tournament was proof of the hard work and training she had put in, but even then, it was farther than she had personally expected.

A quiet determination burned within her. She’ll work even harder, and perhaps one day, the championship will be hers…

Probably one of my favorite female fighters in gaming, Hitomi from Dead or Alive has many of the aspects I like in many of my favorite characters. Good looks, sure, but she also has a confident, peppy personality, and her gameplay is on the aggressive side. She’s just a fun character not weighed down with dramatic plot devices, like Kasumi. But she does have a few minor shortcomings, like her default collection of costumes. A CLOWN, really!?

Continuing my experiments with digital screen tones to go for a more traditional manga look, and also working more on creating more, actual backgrounds for my pieces. A few more of these, however, will I be ready to do actual sequential pages? Here’s hoping!
