Description
Silly stories are shared, describing escapades and generally hilarious and embarrassing moments in their past lives as heroes or in the case of Dr. Drakken, a former villain. ... After everyone told a particular story, all the attention turned to Freakazoid (who had yet to share anything). Professor Heiney decided to butt in and excitedly retell one of the best of many encounters Freakazoid had with the evil genius, "The Lobe". In a small made-up mountainside village called Schnitzel located in the valley below Professor Heiney's laboratory (not sure if it transpired in Switzerland or somewhere in Germany. I'm leaning toward Germany, but I need to do a little more research to see which works better with my fic). The Professor had previously sent Freak a letter asking him to come help him check out the strange and mysterious cloud hovering around, which had turned anyone who entered it into clown zombies. It was there that The Lobe was using a laser gun and a cloud making machine that looked like a re-purposed golf cart to turn people into clown zombies designed to do whatever Lobe told them to do because he's crazy.
Professor also mentions the odd British Gentleman, Lyal Stanger, that Freak met on the train. This dude who was in town to check out faulty light bulbs or something or other had a trippy old toupee and a boogey in his nose and became one of the unfortunate victims of the Lobe's ray gun ... Freak replies later, "...and he still had that boogey...ewgh..." ... Much teasing is had and of course they all laugh at how stupid the Lobe is yadda yadda and somehow Cosgrove was there and the mountain air made him all peppy and such so with the Professor and Cosgrove's help, the Lobe was easily defeated and convinced to throw away his gun because his plan is stupid and dumb and he should go home. Secretly, Freak thought at the time that it was a brilliantly silly plan but clown zombies are just weird and he wasn't going to mention that to inflate the ego of the Lobe's already over-inflated brain head. (Drakken mentions having a few run-ins with the Lobe in the midst of this story). ...and of course there's mention of the news of the loss of the 'boat ride' at Disney Land and how the Professor and Freak (and everyone else) were beside themselves with grief.
Professor: (replies sadly) "Yes... I know, it's gone..."
Freak: "NOOOoooO!! NOT THE BOATS!"
Professor: "Zer zer, I understand your pain, but you vill see, ze imagineers at Disney vill come up vit somesing better, ya?"
Freak: (replies sadly) "ya..."
(please refer to Freakazoid episode "The Cloud")
This tale leads the Professor on to tell more stories about Freakazoid and of course it's Freak's turn to be embarrassed when reminded of some of the outrageous things he did as a teenager when he'd first become a superhero.
.... you can tell I had a lot of fun drawing this...
