This is the piece I have been experimenting with my style on, as you can see it's still within the confines of my previous style but this time I had to force myself to challenge certain shapes and patterns, to stop myself going down the same route as I have before.So while you may look at this and see similarities, I look at this in a fresh light, yes the teardrops, the octopus tentactles, the swirly lines are there, but ack! You know what I mean I hope!!

this is really interesting. it reminds me of an artist i saw in america, he painted loads of deformed fish stuck together in wired shapes that covered the entire page. Very simialr to all your odd shapes.

it does seem like a new approach...I feel your pieces focus on the eye of the storm (if that makes sense) but this one takes a step back and allows for new shapes to form.

Yes I think I know what you mean - a central focal point, it also depends on whether it's more recent - as I have changed styles quite a lot in the last few years

Absolutely, I agree with your description. As soon as I saw this I thought it had some similarities with your old style but there is a lot of new and interesting things going on here. Far more versatile.
It's bloody good to see some new pieces from you again, about time too!

Yes I've been hit by the bug again! I'm loving it, still feel unconfident about finishing the large piece, perhaps in three or four pieces time..
I also bought myself....shock horror.....wait for it....some coloured pencils!!

Thank you, I feel it has more movement than a lot of my others, as I dedicated myself to drawing my own eyes across the page, rather than leaving as a mess of symbols all close together..
