After creating Runa, I wanted to make her a love interest, since I don't see her pairing up with anyone currently living on Berk. So I present to you Tarben Ragnason and his Deadly Nadder, Helstorm.

Character: Helstorm is true to his name: he is hell on wings. In battle he is swift, fierce and cunning and often is merciless. His body carries many scars, the most prominent being his missing eye. Though young he has seen many battles and has almost a cold attitude towards most everything, except for Tarben and a few select people and dragons.

Their story
Like Berk, Odin's Cry was not always friendly towards dragons. They fought many battles against them and lost many people. During that time Tarben had been conditioned to hate and fear dragons and has the blood of many on his hands. It was during a particularly vicious battle that Tarben first saw Helstorm. He targeted this dragon personally, but soon grew to admire this winged nightmare, and chased him into seclusion. Once alone Tarben saw how scarred the Nadder was and wondered, for the first time, how many other dragons had had the same wounds. He could not kill the dragon, and let it fly away.

Two years later rumors of peace between Vikings and dragons spread and finally reached Odin's Cry. Wary and doubtful at first, the people of Hela's Valley began to try this attempt of peace, and found that it worked, although not all Vikings accepted this new way of life and still do not. Tarben's father Ragni is one of them, although he tolerates it for the sake of his people and his son, who soon changed his mind towards dragons as well. Often he wondered about that scarred Nadder, and one day it appeared just outside the valley, where Tarben had been out gathering supplies. The two faced each other, apprehensive, and slowly approached. Tarben held his hand out and the Nadder lightly touched it with his nose. Both bearing scars of many battles, they became inseparable, fighting off raiding Vikings and the odd unfriendly dragon. While Tarben is friendly and fair towards most, Helstorm is cold and has affection only for Tarben. During their years together the two became known for the battle techniques and for remaining in battle until the bitter end.

Like Runa, Tarben is a Frankenstein creation and took forever, but I love him.
