Description

fineliners, watercolour pencils and watercolours (modified in gimp and sai).

I started this work at the end of April, but didn't know what sort of background would be good, so I did as much as I could without it and then put it aside and let the idea to form. It came to me when I came back from Glastonbury, or more precisely from Avebury, where such standing stone are creating amazing surroundings.
Now I just need to repaint her face a little (and get a real scanner)

Why Guinevere would be a May Queen? Aside from the fact she probably came to Camelot at Beltaine, it is how I personally see her- as a Lady of late spring, surrounded with flowers, in love with art and fine work. Loving and a lover. Passionate, even if not always for a cause I'd agree with and of course a leader. Guinevere is the face and the keeper of the light, warm part of the year.
