So here's Iorveth from The Witcher 2. Best Elven character in a game, ever.
I made a couple of changes to his outfit and gave him longer hair, mainly for personal preference. Hope you guys like it.

That's plain perfect. Seriously. That's what an elf has to look like. Not an angelic creature with rainbows above it and unicorns at it's feet. He reminds me of this gruesome elf (captain of the Red Riders, can't remember his name) from the last The Witcher novels

I don't really have any skills, to be honest... I just stumble around in the dark until I feel the painting is done. lol
The people at CD Projekt RED certainly know what they're doing when it comes to character design. Iorveth's design in particular is flawless.
I still haven't read the novels, but this character you mentioned is intriguing. I was waiting until the entire main saga was translated, but it looks like that may take a long time. I'll probably cave and read the first book at least. It may inspire more art... so it's worth it.

I'm actually a Roche fan, but meh.. Everyone is drawing Iorveth. It's good though that some of the arts are VERY good, even with him

Nah, I think there won't be any more translations in English -.- C'mon, these books are already pretty old and they're still not translated fully. Good thing I'm Russian and we have complete translations

You're right, all the characters in the game are pretty unique. I was very impressed with the amount of detail they put into each one, unlike some games where you get the copy and pasted npcs.
I like Roche, as well.. mainly because his face model looks similar to Clint Eastwood.. and I'm a bit of an Eastwood fan. But I do tend to prefer Iorveth. I can't help it.

I always compare my work to everyone else and I usually just end up wanting to stop drawing altogether. lol It's a bad habit.
Awww, I really want to read the entire saga.

Well, some minor characters are actually copies.. but who cares, when you usually cut them down or don't even mind them? XD Other characters are actually great, especially with their visual imperfections!
I like Roche because he's.. well, Roche xD And I don't have anything against Iorveth really, but this cursed flood of fangirls here and there actually kills me.. and it's kind of sad, that Roche doesn't get as much attention and fanarts as Iorveth does.

Really bad habit! I recently compared my works to one girl's works. She's 16 and I'm almost 18 but damn... Her skills are far better than mine! That's actually kind of awkward.. But that makes me want to practice more!

Yeah, most of the general npc faces are the same, but the outfits are pretty varied, from what I remember. Either way, I was impressed with it. There are certain other games I've played not too long ago where all the npcs were exactly the same and they put less detail into them.. it was rather disappointing and ruined the atmosphere and realism.
Hmm.. I may just do a Roche pin-up one of these days. I still have a bunch of Skyrim ones to do, but I'll add him to my list. Why not, right?
I also liked Cedric... and I cried at a certain part I wont mention for the sake of spoilers. Even though you barely get to talk to him, he's so well written that he's unforgettable.
Yeah, if anything it makes you want to improve.. but I do need to take breaks. I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to my art that I take forever on one painting making sure everything is just right. Then I see those who do a painting in a couple of hours and it looks 10 times better than mine... drives me NUTS. lol
I'll have to look around for some after I buy the translated ones.
