She was supposed to hunt down the human bandits near her village, as trade was essential to its prosperity. She was also told to make sure the nearby human town knew she was in the area.
So she combined the two ideas into one. Her outfit would distract the bandits from attacking, and any humans would know that she had been there too.
And if a merchant needed rescuing, perhaps she could convince the merchant to go back to her village afterward.

I love the way you painted the fence and the tree trunks and the muddy ruts in the track she is walking. I also like the way her skin picks up the colours in the background but with more warmth.
