Wow, been very busy this week with both the Applo project and getting commissions out the door. But it feels so good to have so much work in all disciplines constantly churning away; it prevents burn-out. If I'm jumping from scripting to animating to sound engineering to painting several times a day, my mind doesn't fizzle out. It feels great! And I can say that because of the last few weeks, my artistic confidence has gone way up, and I really felt it while working on this image.

I've been coming back to this a couple times now, and its just a great veiw every time! You nailed the clouds, they're very different but they really work! And the rendering/texture mixture is lovely, digging that!

Oh man, and they were haaaaard to do, too. Not in the sense of complexity or detail, but in finding an approach and painting method that actually worked. Glad you like 'em though, I was at a point for a while where I was afraid my painting of the clouds would ruin the image, and then by some miracle tripped upon a magic formula that actually made them look presentable. Throw on some lighting, some God rays, and add little hints of purple to the dark areas, wabam, troubles overcome and heavenly clouds.
It was a solemn reminder that I really really need to practice clouds more.

Yep, love being able to compare this one to ~SeanE 's. They look so totally different, even though they came from the same lines, and I feel that's a testament to both your's and Sean's talents and style.
