It's such a surreal scene but at the same time looks so normal.
Very cool.

I am seriously drooling over this, it looks so cute! If I were a child, I would read that book and carry it around forever until it broke! Nice, nice, nice job!!! :3 I am envious of your octopus powers.

The overalll tone of this one brings me to a sedated state while the brightness of the butterflies makes me feel a possibly solid state of hope that my mood might pass. Of all your recents that Ive seen this one really grabs me. For some reason the girl brings no emotion to me as I have little interest in peoples attention on me but I feel like maybe Im him with my odd pet, proud and caring for it. The butterflies are to me generic forms of beauty but used in this sense take a whole nother form. As a person who is constantly depressed or "out of state" I see the color scheme to be at my preference of what I wish my surroundings were now..letting me add at my control brilliance and hope, butterfly by butterfly, and perhaps person by person.

cute - i'd love to have an octopus to walk

i was just at the monterey bay aquarium, and they had several large octopi... and a little film about them too. in the film, they showed an octopus being fed. it reached its arms out of the tank, and the woman feeding it kept gently lifting and returning the arms into the tank. but sometimes the octopus wrapped its arm around her arm, and the woman stroked it lovingly. in the voiceover, they explained some octopus really seem to enjoy human contact, while others shied away.

i thought that was just so cool - affectionate octopusses

For a children's book fair in Italy and to Scholastic publishing. I got nice little rejection letters that weren't too crushing (which is nice )

Yeah, could have been worse... could have not responded at all. Well, I think it's cool, but perhaps for children, a bit more color. At least that's what I've been told too. "Kids like vibrant. They are more likely to pay attention if there are lots of colors to look at." If that's the case, then why are infants given black and white patterned mobiles and toys to develop their minds?

I still think it's great! The uniqueness is what grabs my attention. I like the style too. The butterflies really stand out. I like it, but who am I?
