Maik and Bliss still looked at the destroyed town.

"It's so fucking beautiful, isn't it?" A man was limping up to the twins, clenching his left side.
"Who the hell are you?" Maik was tired, but suddenly, he felt enraged.
"Cause and effect, kid. I am the cause, and behind me is the effect." He coughed, and fell to the ground. Maik turned his body over to where he could see his face. Maik and Bliss both noticed blood coming from the man's wrists.
"Oh- You're hurt?!" Bliss started to help him up, but Maik kicked him back down. "Maik!"
"It's his fault. He burned this town to the ground."
"You stupid kid...They deserved death. I was chosen to give judgment to humans."
"No. You deserve death."

Maik unsheathed his sword and put the blade right through the man's neck. He died near instantly. Bliss backed away a little bit, shocked. "Maik...you killed him!"
"Who is he to judge others?"
"Who are you to judge others!"
"This is justice! If we let him live, he would have killed more people. Besides, he would slowed me down. I need to reach Niveus, so I can get the Expletus power."
"That's what this is about? Some stupid power? Ever since you fought that Rellik man, you haven't been the same!"
"Bliss...You're the last person I want to hurt, but if you stand in my way of getting Expletus and killing Rellik and Deluct, I'll have no choice but to kill you."

Bliss felt something she never did before, and slowly walked away from Maik. She kept her head down, while tears fell down her face. Maik, feeling no remorse, continued down the hill to the town. By the time he reached the other end of the town, he saw a familiar figure staring at him.

"You!" Maik charged at the man with full force.
"Hm? Come on now, Maik, let's not do this yet." It was Rellik. Rellik sidestepped, easily dodging Maik.
"I'm going to kill you."
"Let's talk for a minute, shall we?"
"What could you possibly want to talk about?"
"You're angry, and it's clouding your thoughts. Before we begin, I want you to know, that your past is paradise compared to mine."
"What? I had to watch the closest things to parents I had die before me."

"As did I, but my situation was different. My parents hated me. They hated me so much, they just wanted me to die. I grew up believing all humans were this disgusting, and when I got older, I realized how true that was. I killed my parents when I was 12, and at 13 I killed everyone in my village. I'm 24 now, Maik, and I've killed 1048 people in my life. The Waka brothers were numbers 1043 and 1044. I'm pretty proud of myself. One after another, Maik, one another. You and I aren't so different. Did you see what you did to that man up there?"

"Shut up!" Temperantia was coursing though Maik, unusually. He normally doesn't excel in Temperantia.
"Maik, please, let me help you. I can help you understand what you want, and I can show you how to turn this anger of yours into a weapon."
"No. I'll kill you, Rellik!" Both of Maik's hands burst into flames. Maik had become one of the rare people who can create elements.
"So be it."

Rellik jumped back and pulled out two of his spatha swords. Maik lifted his longsword in his right hand, and with his left, he concentrated the fire power. They fought. After a few minutes of Rellik losing, Maik suddenly fell unconscious.

"As I thought, he can't control himself yet. This is good. Maik, you're going to make the perfect pupil."
