This is a way, WAY long overdue picture for ~ticticai that I promised I'd make her in exchange for this loverly drawing she made me for Christmas!Yes, Christmas. Yes, I took very long to make the exchange drawing, I know.
OCTs, school, things, I've only really been 100% free to do anything I please since September, so after getting birthday art and some GS self-indulgence out of the way I EXCUSES anyways here is the picture.
This is Tic's Black trainer - Will the Unova Wilderness Ranger. He is accompanied by Signet the Archeops, Sellex the Eelektross and Petrillo the Scolipede, as he plans what place to venture next and help anyone who needs aid, which would usually be 10-year-olds on advenshursss gone wrong because kids are dumb and there are giant centipedes and angry afro-bulls and goddamn sand crocodiles out there, you damn kids go back to school because you are messing up the future of your nation.
The three Mons from Will's team I chose just happen to be things that would somehow glisten, so you have some additional SHINYNESS. Enjoy.
I also wanted to push the level up with making things more detailed/slick. Even though the outcome isn't bad, I think I'll prefer to keep things a little messier in future pictures, it just seems more... personal? I DON'T KNOW, RAMBLING--

Oh dear, sorry for the delay in answering! I've had a hard time keeping up with my messages the last several weeks.
The entire image was created in Photoshop, I just choose certain hues or tones to create a particular color palette. I'm afraid I can't give much more information then that, since there's nothing more to add, ahah. It's just a matter of color choices.

This is so beautiful I don't even know where to begin. Thank you for remembering me even so long after the fact, and I sure know you've been busy! I've been feeling really down lately and seeing this art has really picked up my spirits. I don't think I can say thank you enough.
Anyway aaah you got all their personalities in there just right! Especially Will himself and Signet. Signet's just...his face. derp.
And the light and the shines and the shades of the scene! Everyone sure is sparkly in that sunlight, and those shadows make everything stand out even more. The lines on the map and on Sellex's FACE and Petrillo's HORNS oh my goodness how did you even manage to draw them from that angle I don't know
Kids are dumb. Will will save you.

I understand what you mean by you liking it a little more messy, it does feel like a more personal piece from you when the painting is a bit crazy.

I feel messiness gives more- I don't know, character? I like really polished out works as well, but it's not like every little detail on a picture has to be perfect for it to get a status of "finished". Dwindling with tiny details is pretty time consuming for something that would look just as good or perhaps even better with some messiness left in it. But I should experiment more with that. /puts on art gloves and art goggles

Nestly: So when I saw this image, I fullscreened it, and thought, "Oh, a new Pokemon character from Vera? ..Oh hey.. those are three of Tic's Pokemon she uses. WHAT A COINCED- wait... that looks kinda like her trainer too!" *reads description* Oh that's because it is! LOL.
What a great representation, though! It looks great, and she'll love it! (You could also count it as a belated birthday present too. ;3)
And as usual.. wonderful shading. Wonderful depth in characters, (Especially Petrillo the Scolipede's horns)
And Signet's derpy expression.
