You'll never believe me, but it's supposed to be a polar bear. Yeah, heh ... the colours got away from me. If you could compare my original vision with this, the end result, ... you wouldn't even be able to tell they were supposed to be the same thing. It's like looking at a baby picture and the same person 20 years later.And on top of that, it's an epic clash of two styles. I switched somewhere between the background and foreground.
I wanted to try something really different. Break the mold, so to speak, because I've just been so bored with my old style. I don't know if I'll stick with this method, but it's an option.

Kay, finally I get an opportunity to comment.
My favorite thing about this painting is the luminosity of the fur. Of course polar bears aren't actually green but a little artistic flare to the nature world is always a good thing.
Back to the fur.
Such a lovely range of tones, making it eyecandy to look at. Yum, look at the nice shiny highlights and the dark, rich shadows.
And those face swirlies pwn.

Awhile back there was a polar bear in a zoo that needed medical treatment and the stuff they had to use was bright purple. They coated the bear in this stuff and it looked pretty funny. Here's a picture. [link]

Actually, I adore this piece. It may seem a little rough, but I'm loving that sky. Beautiful colour use, and the cloudy effect is great!
I also love how the bear turned out. Very interesting colour use...and wow. The eyes.

Somehow the style makes him seem like a spirit of some sort and he looks sad. Or at least that's how I interpret it.

Wow... that is a really wicked style! I love how all the colours come together and how the foreground image is such a different colour then the background so it really pops off the page at you. The shading on the bear is really mysterious and somehow makes him look wiser in that lighting. Its an amazing picture mate, I love this new style you've come up with :3
