This is a very beautiful render!
Did you use Advanced Render in C4D?
And just as something to think about:
Isnt it interesting, how 3D is a medium, that frees us from any conventions... from all rules concerning "how things SHOULD look" and lets us create our very own world, with out very own look, feel and style and allows us to do whatever we want in this, our very own world, that we could create... and YET most of us (including me of course!) end up using it in a means to emulate reality...?
lol, now THAT was weird xD But yeah, i like going for that sort of thing, too. But it is kinda strange, isnt it?
And i just realized: I never tried my luck with an interior before O_o

Thank you! Yes, that's the good ol' C4D render engine. I totally agree with what you're saying, although there's two points I'd like to bring up One, "how things should look" is obviously subjective, as I get idiots all the time telling me how my things "should" look (floor's too shiny, I don't like the materials on your couch, you need to "messy" up your room or object, etc.). They never take into consideration how I think it should look And two, as far as emulating reality, yes that's very true, although in reality I could never afford to live in one of my rooms Go for the interior, it's about the hardest thing I have ever tried to do digitally for sure. Lighting these things is absolutely BRUTAL. Check out my picture with the blue chairs in it, that's the new Blender internal render engine called Cycles they are working on now, it's incredible. Blender will finally have caustics and GI Here's a video demonstrating what it does, you'll be impressed [link]

Oh, i agree completely with what you sy. if you create an image, it should definitely be about how you think it should look.
What i meant, though was of a different nature, kinda. What i mean was... well, its tricky to explain, but i mean things that maybe are not really possible in the real life, but using the technology to create them, while still trying to maintain physical plausible. Transparent wood, for example... or a rusting apple... (i once went for the latter, but sadly i lost my SceneFile for that). But thats all just a thought, after all, i am "guilty" of trying to mimic reality myself, haha. This is more or less really just a kind of... weird thought about my very own mindset of things i had floating through my head quite a while now.
Well, i have to say, i do neither know Blender too well nor Cinema4D... but you probably guessed that from my icon
About the video:
Well... I dont really see anything that hasnt been already implemented in other renderengines before, but i DO have to say that it is DEFINITELY IMPRESSIVE to see this kind of technology *FINALLY* being implemented in an Open Sourse Package, and i will definitely make sure to link the blender uses i know to this video.
