Description ------------
So after seeing hobbit I just had to do something related..
This is Sauron in his early state as godlike Maiar creating the one ring ...
------------
I love the idea of the ring burning his skin and natural body and transforming him into the necromantic ghost-like eye we all know !
------------
Anyways tell me how you like it !

Sauron is not a Valar, he is  Maiya...his master Melkor/Morgoth was a Valar...and you should read the Silmarillion.

i agree with nef, if you read the similarion, also the tales of the third age (also helps explain the similarion as well as the backstories of the lord of the rings) sauron was a maiar, however he was very powerful for one, and thus when he became the dark lord he was technically the strongest of morgoths forces that took the mantle, or at least cared to do so.

after morgoth was sentenced to the void, sauron traveled around a bit, and its not known whether or not he had the one ring with him when he went to numenor or not, but i can safely say that he probably planed to rule numenor if the valar defeated the golden kings forces, and really didnt expect the island nation to sink below the waves. because of this resulted in the loss of his "fair" form, i would think that the giant armoured being is basicly his shadow form wrapped in heavy metal armour. certainly explains why it completly fell apart when he had his ring cut from his hand. arrogance on his part.

nicely done on the way his hand appears to be burning off by even reaching for his ring, a tribute to his master with the jewels perhapes?

Nicely done, I especially like the head - a serious, focused look on his face, and the hair giving him a dynamic look.

But my inner-nerd forces me to say: Sauron was a Maiar (just like Saruman and Gandalf), being of lesser power than the Valars (which had more in common with typical, polytheistic gods). His master, Morgoth was a Valar, but Sauron was his first lieutenant - and became the Dark Lord after the demise of Morgoth.

Ok, now with my nerdiness satisfied, I can honestly say: Nice Job
