My critique (as requested):
When looking at this image there are a number of qualities that work really well. The colours really pop out and complement eachother well. In any other area they make not work, but since this is for fashion I find it gives it a nice sassy atmosphere. I like that you haven't saturated the pinks in the model's skin too much, as you might have been at risk of doing by treating the image in this way. The composition, colours and choice of cropping from above and below really make this piece visually appealing. Now, these aspects also make the viewer wonder. We are made to feel like we're invading the model's space and this is reinforced by his pose. Then our judgement is totally flipped over as we can see his eye peeking through, perhaps he isn't so shy afterall? In the end, I like that the image makes me think and is also eye catching. This is a well thought out shot, and definitely sells a quirky lifestyle. In this respect I think it is a successful fashion shot. I do wonder though that perhaps it may be too confusing for some.
