It's an early birthday present for ! The actual b-day is tomorrow (or today? I don't always know with deviantart which day it thinks it is!) but I happened to finish this early so there you go!*sings Happy Birthday*
Because her fanfics and drawings of young Elissa Cousland are completely and utterly wonderful, I made Elissa and young!Nathaniel sneak out of Castle Cousland one fine evening for some moonlight cuteness.
[link] go and read! I have no idea what Highever looks like, but what with all the subtle scottishness going on in the Cousland family, I used Edinburgh castle as a starting point.

The castle and the village looks good. We truly see only glimpses of the Highever castle and even those few images are from the yard and from the inside. But this could definitely be one way how the Highever castle would look like.

Question to FemCousland players: When playing as MaleCouslands in Awakening it is revealed during Nathaniaels personal quest, that their father tried to arrange a match between MaleCousland and Nats sisters in earlier years. Is there something similiar for FemCousland and Nat himself?

Well, in Origins Rendon hints that Thomas (his other son) is interested in marrying you if you're F!Cousland. There are countless explanations as to why it was Thomas and not Nathaniel, all more thrilling than the other. My Victoria is that much younger than Nathaniel that they didn't get romantically involved before Nathaniel was shipped off to Free Marches, but it's also an interesting scene to think about that they were, but for one reason or another Rendon had other plans for Nathaniel. Like marrying him off to Anora. *hums inconspicuously*

You get one other funny scene as MaleCousland: Nats sister - not knowing who you are - tells him that she's very happy married to her commoner husband and glad she didn't have to marry that annoying Cousland boy her father tried to marry her off to.
"Well I didn't want to marry you either" was my reply.

I don't think it's ever mentioned anywhere, but my headcanon says it's a completely plausible scenario - I mean, if they were going to keep Anora as queen, she DID need a husband. And preferably someone of noble birth, and as Howe was a. angling for more power b. Loghain's right hand it would just make perfect sense.
