Man, I'm in love with your werewolf design. I actually changed mine sometime last year and incorporated some primate
features into it. (I used to draw them like the typical anthro wolf until I realized how much I liked the man-like werewolves better ;-; )
I'm kinda shy, so I didn't post any art here yet, but if you're interested in what they look like at all, I'd be more than
happy link you to a (kinda ugly af) ref .o.

Yeah, I got no prob with the anthro type. In fact, I still have a character that I draw in that way. I created him when I was like, 7 XD His appearance wouldn't translate well into my new design, anyway.
Here's the link: scratch.mit.edu/projects/10533… I drew the last pic earlier today, cuz the other drawings are a month or so old, and I actually improved over that time.
Warning, tho. This was drawn on a simple coding website of which the graphics resemble the likes of MS Paint, but I'm no good with other programs, so ;w;
And if you happen to read the description, excuse my lack of anatomy knowledge X'D I'm learning more so I can actually have reasonable explanations.

Ag, no, it's really good! I quite like it. I was originally considering having my guys knuckle walk, too, but then I read a paper that apparently knuckle walking was evolved independently in gorillas and chimps and not ancestral.

I had actually read about that while I was reading about primate behavior to apply to my werewolves not too long ago. I had then considered leaving it out, but then I thought if I'm combining a human
and a wolf together, two unrelated animals, then some traits from a fellow primate shouldn't hurt .u. Plus, I like the idea of knuckle-walking werewolves. Kinda intimidating, in a way.

Tell her I'm sorry I hashtagged her as a werewolf on Twitter! They don't all look alike to me, I swear!

She'd disagree with you. Technically they're carnivorous apes.

Then isn't werewolf a bit of a misnomer?

Well, a seahorse isn't a horse . . . in this headworld, the idea is basically that werewolf doesn't just mean "man wolf", the word wolf was also used for a social outcast or outlaw in old Norway, so it's partly that because after the agricultural revolution werewolves had a much harder time fitting into society and nearly went extinct. Also, an ignorant peasant being attacked by something big, howling and hairy in the night (with no artificial light and having never seen or even heard of apes) would likely describe his attacker as "something like a wolf, something like a man", which would get whittled down over time to werewolf.

In the same sense as the terms "seahorse", or "starfish", yes.
