Description A quick, loose character sketch of Skawpane Amfuse.

It's a caranoctian troll, admittedly based on the D&D troll design-wise (but then, we're all ripping off Poul Anderson, eh?), though rather different when you get down to the gritty biological details (as explained elsewhere).

Very humanoid, but that's because they're genetically part-human, not because I'm a lazy designer. Well . . . maybe a little lazy. The proportions are 'off' from human norm (look at those arms!), it's not me being a bad sketcher (well, pretty bad, although in this case intentional). Credit to tigr3ss for the idea of trolls being semi-digitigrade, which I quite like.

Yep, I've been through your FA page and it's all extremely impressive. So imaginative, and everything so well worked out - plausible anatomies, lifestyles and cultures... Those KINOWA are made of SQUEEEE, and yet they're competely believable and not annoyingly cutesy. And the big picture of centaur races has so much individualised personality.

Gryn's character profile, and the attached plot synopsis, sound wonderful too.

I'd nag you to write faster, but that'd be intensely hypocritical of me as well as annoying.

Thanks, I really need to update the art tho - it's way too humanoid (they should look more like rat-monkeys).

I'm new here, and I'd like to gush over your trolls. They're one of the coolest ideas I've seen for a long time.

Caranoctia /fascinates/ me. Did you ever put up that species-description sheet for satyrs?

Hey, thanks! I've been playing with the Caranoctia setting for years and years now, it never occurred to me anyone else might be interested in it as well, but I've been getting encouraging comments.
I haven't put up the satyr essay yet, but there's more caranoctia stuff on my FA page - furaffinity.net/user/frogsbreath.

I quite like the design, actually. It is very elegant.

And I might have to consider "borrowing" the idea of you and Tigr3ss about the semi-digitigrade thing. Me likey likey.

It was a terrific idea and worked very well for the design, making them a touch less humanoid and more agile and speedy. Her drawing is here: [link]

Well they certainly suit your take on the troll design, that is for certain. Thank you for the link It is a fine line between making something humanOID and something human with a funny head and a tail - your design works well.
