Description

Draw a Werewolf Day! (I’m too tired to color it in)

This is actually a ghoul/werewolf hybrid. I rewatched “The Monster Club” recently and in the intro to the Shadmock story there’s a brief primer on the geneology of monsters. You’ve got your familiar primary monsters - werewolves, vampires and ghouls - and they can crossbreed to produce wereghous, werevamps, and vampghous. Then those secondary monsters can also interbreed to make shaddies, maddies and raddies, and any combination of those third gen monsters makes a mock (a polite term for mongrel). A mock crossed with any other hybrid produces a shadmock, which looks mostly human but has a deadly whistle.

Anyways, for some reason I couldn’t get this bit out of my head and ended up drawing all the variations and writing a little splatfic about them, which I might post sometime. I gave it a skinned snout because I really like that design feature and it works for it, claws that are good at digging up graves, and a rat's tail.

And, as you are a Werewolf fan...

To Dream Of The Hunt...
I went to bed hungry, and God! how I dreamed---
Running over hill and dale on four mighty paws,
Hungry and dreadful my voice as I bayed and howled!
A flock of sheep lay before me,
In a moonlit meadow of grass and sweet clover
And high-spraying blood that shone black on the ground
As I killed and killed and killed!
Glutted, I loped over the reeking red hill
And slunk into a darkling wood to slumber...
Retching, I wake up with wool in my mouth
And a well-gnawed sheep's head for a pillow---
Merciful God, not again...

Really like the design though I get more, wererat vibes, only because of the tail. Nice job on this.

In the french medieval folklore we have a legendary creature that seems to be between a Ghoul and a Werewolf which is called the "Loublin" and this thing feeds exclusively of rotten human corpses.

That's really interesting, I love reading about obscure local versions of werewolves.

Short for ghoul. I'm assuming that's how it was spelled, I was just going by the movie. I'm afraid I haven't read the original book.

Monster Club...? www.youtube.com/watch?v=20Pxj2…

I almost mistook that for "Monster Squad".
So basically, the WereGhou is a person that can Transform into a Ghou, correct?

It's the offpsring of a werewolf and a ghoul.

I cannot fathom how they mate...

At least the Tail is right.

The tail was inherited from the ghoul side, of course.

The style's much looser than usual but I really like this creature design. The hunched back and skinned snout work brilliantly. I've always had a thing for ghouls and their many derivatives.

This also reminds me of work by Mavros-Thanatos, though he leans more towards fantastic/surreal. Well worth a look if you haven't yet seen it!

Yes! Someone else who knows what the Monster Club is (even though the Shadmock story is the movie is closer to the original story "the Mock").

Anyway, I like your take on the Wereghou. I can see now where the Shaddy gets its long prehensile tongue (as stated in the actual shadmock story, which features and Elderly Shaddy, a Maddy, and a Mock). XD

Those monster types are really interesting. And the stripper scene was also very entertaining - I think I should watch that movie somehow.

As for the wereghou, it's a pretty cool creature. I love the stance and the facial expression, along with the claws and the long rat tail. Reminds me Splinter from TMNT a bit - he'd look like similar to this if he'd "rat out."

Are those creatures shapeshifters in that movie? Or being monsters all the time?
