now that is one cool building. the whole shot has a great modern feel to it, mostly from the architecture, but also from the colors and tones that the IR gives. i love all the strong lines which contrast each other, and the sky is beautiful as well. beautiful!

Everytime when I "get used" to your style, be it b/w, nature shots etc., you surprise me once more.
Weird colors that IR gives, but good. Nice set!

thanks but can you explain why?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maicx In reply to vietkatthroughlense [2007-03-30 03:28:18 +0000 UTC]

the line, the window and shape of the building has a minimalis character, but more better if you crop a liitle from above...

cut out the sky? i don't know...that will shorten the perspective...

I would like it more if the clouds were cut out and just had the lines and window. A nice minimalistic feel too it.

what you meant if the clouds were cut out? like no clouds at all? that would be bad...baddd i tell you badd

mrockwood2 [2007-03-25 21:35:25 +0000 UTC]

Kat, Very nice! It steps away completely from being a rendering of a building or merely form. The image is an elegant and dynamic composition with enough visual referent in the sky to place it but not so much that it looses that appealing feeling that it's a pure abstraction. I love that the points of the window frames rest sharply against the sides of the crop. As I said, it really steps away for the literal is a very appealing way. Five stars, and A and a

Kaminfreunde [2007-03-25 13:20:22 +0000 UTC]

The architecture of the building is pretty interesting. Especially the windows.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vietkatthroughlense In reply to Kaminfreunde [2007-03-29 14:59:54 +0000 UTC]

the windows are what caught my attention 1 month ago when I visited the building across the street. I looked over and there they were extending out from the building...not 'till recently i decided to shoot it ... the whole time i was there i was paranoid that the security might ask questions thanks for the comment

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kaminfreunde In reply to vietkatthroughlense [2007-03-29 16:00:35 +0000 UTC]

Always welcome. Do you have also some photos showing the building as a whole?

Hehehe so you got the shot without awkward questioning?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vietkatthroughlense In reply to Kaminfreunde [2007-03-29 16:08:33 +0000 UTC]

yes i do...if you want to see i'll load it up on my site later
and yes i got away w/out any awkward question...but the time before that i was shooting at the other building...a security van stopped by and asked me 'who are you working for?' i was like wtf...i was just here to shoot...and they were like then left.. hehe
