wow, i really love this one. it has this sense of a way to escape, and yet it ends so abruptly. it's like some sort of ephemeral stepping stone. and yet, the fact that it's in motion implies that someone, at least, is using it, or has used it. very cool. i think the only thing that takes away from that sort of message is the land on the horizon...i would like it if that wasn't there, so you had this sense of stepping into nothingness, stepping into the unknown. it still has that feel, but i think it would be even stronger if the stuff wasn't there on the horizon. i really love this one though, it's beautiful. the contrast between the texture of the rocks and the smooth, ghostlike form of the ladder is great as well. love it. great work as usual.

Great effect! but i would have loved it alot more if the tripod had'nt move. rocks are a bit blurred. And about the line of horizon.. who bothers

Great composition.. just needed a better tripod or standing point

Wonderful shot. Looks as if you've packed something with a thin foil of fog.
The composition is great, the horizon is a bit...not horizontal, I love the warm reflections in the stone at the bottom, and although they could use a weeney bit more contrast, the colors are still dazzling.

thanks for the crit. it's hard to balance the tripod on haft water and half rock surface..hehe i could fix it in ps. but i didn't want to ruin the composition and dimension so i just leave it

Kaminfreunde [2006-09-09 06:36:08 +0000 UTC]

Caused by the time the water blurres into a large lake of fog. Also the stones are looking so smooth and soft. You can try to straighten the horizon with DxO because it's a little bit curved. Moreover a great photo!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vietkatthroughlense In reply to Kaminfreunde [2006-09-09 18:40:14 +0000 UTC]

hehe yeah it was hard to straighten the horizon when there was no flat surface to stand on while shooting the shot. I reallized it was abit off, but then i didn't want to crop and fix it in ps. it might distorted the composition and dimension of it so i leave it as it is hehe

Thanks for your critique

Love the image, great use of motion blurr and long exp. Is that a railing or wood in there actually? It's interesting.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vietkatthroughlense In reply to Ray2885 [2006-09-09 18:35:40 +0000 UTC]

i don't really know what that thing is hehe...but i'm sure it's not a railling for anything it either got dumped there or pulled on to the shore-line by the wave.
It's what caught my eyes. without that i wouldn't risk my high chances of falling into the water to get the shot hehe

thanks for your comment
