Because gods are likely hiding in the clouds. (sarcasm)

my mother told me that Heaven was on the biggest cloud there was. So in vain I would look up at the sky and try to figure out of the clouds I saw, which one was Heaven.

I remember when I was 3 or 4 and my great-grandmother died.
My mother is not religious, and in fact when I was older (like 6), she told me no one knew what happens after death.
But when my great-grandmother died, and I asked where she was, mom told me she was in Heaven. Presumably because she thought she should shield me from truth or something.
She told me this in Finnish, and in Finnish the word for 'Heaven' and 'sky' are the same. So, one, I thought the idea of corpses floating on the sky was cross. Not to mention unpractical. How did they stay up? Were they in space?
And secondly, I was pretty certain she had been buried underground.
At that moment I realized adults just bullshitted you sometimes.

You put "And that's how Vanessa became at atheist" instead of "And that's how Vanessa became an atheist".
Otherwise, I love it, it definitely made me laugh.

I was lucky to have honest parents. I feel sorry for the kids who get coddled with lies.
