Hello, thanks ! I think of them before colouring, creating first the background, and then, sometimes I go with the flow for some parts of the piece, but I decided before painting that I wanted a faerie atmosphere, with a kind of golden tree

hello, you're welcome ! Yes in general I paint the background first, but sometimes I do too some part of the characters or details on the foreground first, just to start the work, if I am very confident. Sometimes I do a transparent paint layer on the whole drawing, to give a special atmosphere, before beginning the "real" work.

In general I like to do 80% of the job in one shot, during 2-3 days , and after that, doing the details quietly , so 4-5 days. For this one it took a long time ,maybe a week, because the background has a very special atmosphere, which needed 2 or three paint layer to have the good aspect, and it was full of details. I finished the piece one month later (also because I had other things to do) with the complete detailed foreground.
