I finally got around to making a sequel to my last Regi post! These are all from a game that I have in mind but haven’t actually designed. As always, these designs are just products of my own imagination, I’m open to name changes and if you have any ideas, critiques, or suggestions for the future of this project feel free to let me know! I love talking Pokemon
These three new regis compliment each other, as they represent some of the fundamental forces of the universe. Regimind (Psychic) represents order, mathematics and harmony. Regidark (Dark) represents discord, chaos and individuality. Regighost (Ghost) represents Life and Death. These three golems are intrinsically tied to each other in a way that the other Regis are not.
In the game I have in mind, the player can go one of three routes after defeating the First Pokemon League. Should they decide to go down the Adventure Route, they will be given access to a large, expansive region (possibly the Beta Johto Region?) where the gameplay shifts to increasingly difficult puzzles, side-quests, mazes, hidden towns and dungeons that focus more on critical thinking rather than battling. Many of these side-quests result in the discovery of these mythical Regis.
Regimind (Psychic)
Regimind is an enigmatic elemental figure that can only be summoned and controlled by those of incredible mental capacity. Its body is made of an unknown material that cannot be dissected for further inspection. It is speculated that it is made entirely of solidified psychic energy, although scientists are unsure how such a composition could be possible without violating the laws of physics. Its arms are comprised of ever-shifting but mathematically perfect geometric shapes, capable of forming into projectiles, defensive shielding, or useful appendages.
This Pokemon’s composition and abilities represents order in the world, and the mathematical fabric that keeps predictability stable. Regimind are paired with Regidark when traveling, as its harmonic influence on nearby pokemon and humans would be too dangerous without discord to compliment it.Regidark (Dark)
Regidark is the antithesis of Regimind, representing the discord and chaos that creates individuality in the world. Though Regidark has a solid base form, people that view it often report seeing radically different cosmetic details. These details are almost always related to something that the viewer finds personally unsettling, and it is possible that Regidark’s form changes from observer to observer. Regidark are paired with Regimind when travelling, as its chaotic influence on nearby pokemon and humans would be too dangerous without order to compliment it.Regighost (Ghost)
Regighost is a representation of Death and Life in this world. It is intangible, and often found drifting between this plane of existence and another one. Where it goes is unknown, however some who have had near-death experiences report seeing it briefly. It has been theorized in some ancient mythologies that Regighost guides souls to the afterlife.
The main region that the player unlocks during the Adventure Route stretches far to the east and west. Throughout several towns in the center of the region, Regighost can sometimes be found, often in very unsettling settings. It will usually be completely still, and interacting with it will cause it to vanish. However in some minor sidequests, the player will be able to see it following them at the edge of the screen, if only for a few frames, during particularly dangerous missions. There will be an NPC keeping tabs on a mysterious ghostly figure, and will often give you good advice as to where you can encounter it next.
In the fiction of the game, as mentioned above, Regimind and Regidark need to be in close proximity to each other in order to cancel out the other’s influence on nearby creatures. However, the Regimind and Regidark of the player’s region have separated due to an intense argument, and fled to the far east and west. As the player travels far enough in either direction, they will hear rumors of towns behaving very strangely. After completing several other sidequests, and potentially after having caught some other Regis, the player will be given access to these towns and discover their dark secrets.
Far to the east, the player will be asked for help by an NPC who escaped their hometown which has been unknowably altered. Upon finding the town, they discover that everything is uncomfortably symmetric and geometric. People and even the pokemon in the town speak only the same words. They are a hivemind in perfect unity. This would have interesting effects on the players party, as well as the battling mechanics. For example, all damage done in the town is truly equal. When battling a wild pokemon, any damage done to the opponent is immediately dealt back to the player. If a player heals their pokemon, the wild pokemon is healed as well. The player will need to get very crafty when battling in order to have an equal exchange of damage while staying on top, etc. As anything that happens to one NPC would affect every other one, defeating this town would require solving complex puzzles that put everyone in position to summon Regimind. After the player either defeats or catches it, the town goes back to normal.
Far to the west, you encounter similar rumors and discover a town plagued by lovecraftian chaos. People are confusing, dialogue is impossible, designs are broken, etc. Things are backwards in this town. Tall grass is the only place the player is safe from wildbattles, the move “recovery” KO’s whatever pokemon is using it, healing items deal damage. There are spicy berries that anywhere else in the game are worthless in-battle as they only deal damage to pokemon, but in this town they heal. Etc. The player must chase Regidark through the townsfolk’s nightmares, and find tricky ways to bring unity into the town in order to summon Regidark. After defeating or catching it, the town goes back to normal.
If a player has caught both Regidark and Regimind, and has them in their party, they can finally interact with and catch Regighost.

If the Regis were made in respective ages by Regigigas. I would think Regidark was in the Dark Ages. Redimind was in the Age of Enlightenment. And I'm drawing a bit of a blank on Regighost.

Even conceptually/metaphysically they're somewhat similar to Angels.
