This piece immedately caught my eye from the thumbnail. I absolutely love the softness and painterly quality it has. I don't feel like its lacking in interest at all
I don't know if you're still looking for crits but the one thing that's really sticking out to me is the lack of atmospheric perspective. I'm sure you know that as things get closer to the horizon they get lighter and less saturated. Pushing the values and colors of the rock formations that are closer to us would probably make this really pop

How do you pick your colors?

if i use a reference, i try to match the colours from the picture. if i'm not using any, i just play around for a while until i get the colour i want
also if i have no ref, i try to imagine the finished work and it's colours

But personaly never had a problem to say what bothers me in something , in a polite way always.It does not mean that my opinion should be take as a "golden rule" just as a helping hand to help you identify what YOU do not like in your painting .
I just wish I had the skill to advice you how to improve, then I would consider my advice a "constructive criticism" . But alas I suck big time. lol
Any way , I am not here to question the effort and love you put in this piece. I love your art and you are a compass for my progress.

no worries, i appreciate comments when someone points out what they like and don't, helps me to notice my mistakes and what should i aim for when i will do my other work.

Actually I would say the opposite, that there is maybe too much contrast. Especially the blue of the water looks like it glows. However this is not a bad thing per se, maybe a bit too extreme.
What bothering with this one, is the lack of detail and the lack of interesting theme, even though you clearly have the skill , there is nothing in this picture that captures the eye.
Also I am not so sure about those blueish lines , I am not so sure what they represent.
I see that you seek a messy kind of style, which I like as well, I advice you to take a look at Guild Wars art.

i never painted mountains before, this was like a practice, because i wanna start my own conceptual peace with mountains in it, and i didn't knew how to paint them
i don't know why i added those blue lines, i just liked how they look. and yes, the water is glowing, also don't know why
this is just one big experiment, maybe i will use those glowing parts in other works.
and those concepts are amazing
