Heeeee, a more full-length shot of the costume. Adjusting my (bloody uncomfortable) pumps. One of these days, I'll plan a costume that doesn't plot homicide on my poor feet. :<
This costume was entirely sewn by me (with verbal and moral guidance from ~spiked-stock , without whom this costume would never have happened <3), and all accessories were drafted, cut, and spraypainted by me in the stairwell of our dorm. >_>;; Don't tell anybody. Also, all jewels were cast in my dorm room with poor ventilation (mwahaha). Only thing I didn't make on this entire costume was the wig...that's thanks to eBay.

i ordered the same wig (cosplaywig on ebay right??) and they sent me an email saying it was shipped on the 9th of sept. i live in pa and it still hasnt gotten here yet. the con is 2 weeks from today and im afriad i wont get it in time. how long did it take to get to you??

It took about ten days to get to me, but I wouldn't get concerned just yet--Hong Kong delivers slowly. If it gets to be a week before the con and nothing, you might want to ask them for a tracking number.

Thank you so much!! <333 Surprisingly my feet weren't hurting too bad, we took frequent enough breaks. xD My CrisisCore!Aerith shoes were worse, believe it or not. I was happy to get out of the Nia shoes at the end of the day, though, teehee.

what did u use to make the head piece in the wig? or did that come with the wig?

I made the flower out of two shades of pink craft foam, cast the green jewel myself, and the gold 'setting' it's in was air-dry clay that I sprayed gold. Glued all this to a barrette, and made a clay covering for the other side and sprayed that gold, and glued that to a barrette as well. ^^ The fabric was just remnant from Jo-Ann's hand-sewed the morning of the con. LOL

So cute! haha, costumes made in dorms make you feel much more accomplished, don't you think? I feel like I should warn you, if you ever decide to use spray paint for small details by spraying in a cup and using a brush- spray paint will eat through those red plastic solo cups making the bottoms fall out and paint go everywhere (a friend and I found out the hard way). -Koumori

Holy crap, yes. xD Limited resources, limited space, rules everywhere about spray-painting stuff (....if you get caught, anyway x3)...it feels awesome to get to say I completed this costume in a dorm.
Oh, really? LOLOL, I had those red plastic Solo cups for mixing resin and was afraid the same thing would happen. Luckily, it didn't. But I didn't realize spray paint would melt the cups, good to know!
I was also afraid the spray paint would eat through my craft foam, especially since I didn't have the resources/time to prime and coat them and give them an 8-coat varnish (jeweled collar was finished at 4am the night before the con, helloooooo xDDD), so I was spraying it literally straight onto the craft foam pieces. LUCKILY it worked great, albeit it soaked it up a little and they weren't as shiny as I would've liked. I could've gone up one level of shininess when buying it, but thought that one might be overkill.

Yeah, when a friend and I made the scythes for our Soul Eater group we had to do almost all the construction outside, there was NO WAY we could spray paint in the dorm without killing ourselves and our roommates (or our roommates killing us).
Until I saw your cosplay I didn't know spray paint worked on craft foam. I'm glad it turned out so well.
hehe, yeah. Somehow I always end up finishing costumes last minute. My cosplay group has actually finished stuff in our con hotel room. It was such a nightmare

I totally made the necktie and hair-fall in the hotel room Saturday morning of Tekkoshocon. x3 And our Garnet did all her grommet-setting there, too, she didn't have any of the grommets for her corset lacing done yet. YAY LAST MINUTE! xDD

This was my first Tekko, so I dunno about the old hotel, but this one was SWANKY, man! x3 So much room!! Seeing as we basically destroyed our room when we got there Friday night to finish our costumes (let's just say I didn't have a completed necktie or hair-flower until Saturday at 8am and our Garnet didn't have grommets to lace her corset through until then, either), we were REALLY glad we had so much room to spread out. My tiny-ass room at Otakon never would've held up to the mess we made and still have people be able to walk around. xDD Hopefully they keep it at the Westin, it was lovely!

Last years was in Greentree and was my first. And it was SO crampt. My friends stayed in the overflow hotel, which had a kitchen in their room and we ate ramen and drank bawls. But this year was a blast. Their room held 9 people this year. This year was definetly wayyy more fun. And I loved it. I cant wait for it next year. A friend and I are gonna try to get to Ohayocon in January, and at least have a cosplay. I totally didnt get one done for Tekko this year thanks to work.
I only wish there were more places to rave at in this area or in Pittsburgh
