The original one is certainly striking but a bit too ostentatious and ceremonial. I wanted to do something more wild and practical, seeing that the Persians were just a tribe of nomads at the time. Then again, tribal cultures of that sort already had well developed styles of clothing, as clearly evidenced by the Issyk suit.
