So, finally completed! I am quite pleased with it. This is Jamelia, a British singer.The hardest part of this drawing was getting the right porportions on the shoulder and chest area. The background is black, made black with extrasoft black cretacolour pencil nr. 1. The white boarder is where I left the paper white (that's why it's not a prefect square)
Tools used:
2b, 5b, 7b, 4h, 9h_ grahite, black cretacolour pencil nr. 1 and 3, tissue paper, pencil shaped eraser.
This drawing has been drawn on A4 smooth Bristol, I used about 90 percent of the paper, leaving only a small frame.
Time spent:
25 hours?

Sorry for being late with the comment (Again. I feel obliged to say sorry ^^), I had exams so it was difficult to keep up with peoples' new deviations and comments.
You seem to be really fast at producing really good work, even though you say you don't draw as much as you used to. You said it was hard getting the right proportions, but you seem to have had no trouble as the final outcome is really good.
I really like the facial tones and lighting and the contrasting hair. It seems like you've spent a long while on the hair; it must have been tiring. The eyes, nose, and mouth are amazing. I still haven't worked out how to do those properly, though I haven't started trying to get good at them yet because of the exams and procrastination. Once again, sorry for the late comment.

First of all, you really don't have to apologize for commenting a bit late. I am ver greateful to recieve each comment, and it doesn't matter when I do so. I wish you all the best with your exams! The fact that you didn't have any extra time is good in way, it means you worked hard. I'll be sitting my exams next month...
Thank you very much! Yes, porportions are quite hard for me, because I don't use any technique to get them right: no grids... I just make a skecth and go with that, and sometimes things go wrong. I like the hair, but think that maybe it looks a bit too... I don't know, perhaps the contrasts are too strong, what do you think? Iem ery pleased with the eyes, and the lashes... they took quite a while.

Thank you very much for the compliments. The eyelashes were loads of work, especially the light on the ends, but it seems worth it. They are huuge on the ref. as well
