Chapter 7. The Dragon Emperor by Pafait
Known to be a bit flamboyant than his predecessors, the Dragon Emperor was a mighty ruler regardless. That was likely the only good thing about him. Otherwise, he was that guy who would drape himself over the seat of the throne, crying about that one time he tripped while bowing when he was 12. With little redeeming features, he was somehow accepted as a ruler, a silly husband, and a father of two, Hanfu Princess and her younger sister, Pampy Princess. He loved his family dearly and would do anything in his power to protect them. That’s why he now stood before the Demon Lord and the Hanfu Princess.
“Unhand my daughter!” he commanded with a voice that shook the empire grounds. He had yet again taken an unfounded martial arts stance that looked like some cross between a 3-legged cow and the leftovers of last night’s dinner. Hanfu grit her teeth in embarrassment. She had told him to stop making up his own poses.
“Damn, he caught us,” muttered the Demon Lord. They had managed to make it this far inside the castle, so why now did he find them? Did someone inform him?
They stood in tense silence in the middle of the castle halls, directly above a dungeon that held a corrupt fairy vial. Haetae watched her surroundings carefully, picking up a quiet ufufufu from behind a pillar. A mysterious figure with the scent of the royal family was nearby, observing the beginnings of this upcoming battle.
“All according to plan,” the unseen figure whispered deviously. :3c
