Ok, I've had this awful self portrait in my portfolio for almost a year, now .. and it was time to make a replacement for it so I can take that piece of crap embarassment out. (Yes, I really hate it...) So, here's a new one. Perhaps I will loathe this one in a year too - one can only hope. Just shows you're getting better, right? Learned a lot with this one .. as I have with a bunch of the last few. Done entirely in photoshop. I need a new tablet.
I find the tiny graphire ones tend to not like photoshop too much and create 'blocky' kind of lines when it comes time to paint quick, confident strokes... anyone else have this problem?

First I'd like to say good job, it is very beautiful. It may be just me, but the eyes are a little small, and a little too high up the face. It may be accurate, but I think if you lowered them a little and made them bigger it would be more appealing to the eye. Love your hair!

Its an outstanding peice though I do agree with you - you cant learn from anything if you dont correct yourself. That is indeed intellegent but then again I dont believe there is one artist who doesn't hate one of their paintings is there? ^_^ Well I love your art and this peice is great

This is so pretty. The hair is great. I love red hair, it makes for such great pictures. I just thought I'd point out two things I find really helpful to drawing people (even though I'm nowhere near as good as you). Pupils of the eyes should align with the corners of the mouth, and eyes should midway down the face. Obviously I don't know what you really look like, but hey, hope I helped.

I got a A6 surface on my volito
You cant make quick swooshing lines, especially not zoomed out
makes them kinda not smooth but with edges and such... growl
also mine wont light on the pressure as easy, so when I life the pen to change color or so, it makes a long line over the piece... sigh
I cant afford another one now

I don't have a tablet yet, but I was thinking about getting one. Using a mouse is getting really.. really... really.... old.
You did a good job on this. You can definitely see the progression from your other self portrait. The proportions are a little off, but you have some serious talent with colours and that shows here. I have a consuming obsession with the colour red and I love anyone who makes it look good in their artwork. You have beautiful hair.

I use an intuos (first one, not intuos2), the small one, but haven't noticed a problem. Perhaps the graphire is not as steady.

the features aren't as smooth or round, they stick out a bit much (the cheeks, the nose, etc, as opposed to how the other pix you have flow into the features) and the coloring around the mouth (under it) is too light i think... a lot of ppl here don't seem to take negative comments too well so yeah... though i think it helps ppl as long as you say what and why not "this is crap, you suck" so yeah...
