concept for aphokay i find drawing stuff like this really fun but there are two problems. one, no inspiration. two, no knowledge about composition whatsoever. anyone know where could i learn (besides for art school)? ;a;
anyways, drawing such complex landscapes is a pain when you have to do it on one layer because you accidentally merged everything

In Photoshop you can set the crop tool to show different composition guidelines. I constantly use the rule of thirds.

The best source of knowledge is observation. Just get some photos, and copy them for studying. This will help to improve :3

[link] its a complete online drawing school teaching all the basics - I just stumpled upon this 2 days ago. The "teacher" is a concept artist at Arenanet/NCsoft(Guild wars & guild wars 2)

And to answer your question, buy books on drawing/painting techniques, or just don't worry about it because you're pretty darn good as it is! Look real close and study art you really like, and try to replicate that style!
Also Paint Tool Sai [link] is a great piece of drawing software that lets you do layering.
